Hmmm, I see I missed an interesting little discussion last night! I think Krayzie pretty much summed things up.

The boxes, when available, retail for $60 - 70, plus shipping (circa $12 shipping from Japan), so one box from Japan will cost about $80. And (also posted above) that's 20 packs, so $4.00 per. Out of 20 energies, 8 types, you'll get an average of 2 - 3 per type. So if you're wanting just Lightning, for example, you've paid as much as $40 per energy (of course you also get 20 holo, 3 or 4 of which are holo ex, and those can be traded or sold, but you get the idea of how much time/expense/trouble it is to get just the energies you need that way).

Shaw, true enough, if I were just in it to make money, I suppose I could buy boxes, trade for exes, sell them and buy more boxes (hey, Drew, do you see a plan there?!?!?), but I am just trading the quickly dwindling supplies of energies I have and want to get the most bang for my buck.

Anyway, for those that have asked, I'll give about 2 rares to a holo's worth in trade for a few TRR Prerelease cards. Many of them will be given to League members who couldn't attend, so I won't give lots for them.

So, like what Shaw proposed would be right in line with my thinking - a Prerelease for a RH :). BTW, my Haves are linked from my first post, but specifically they are found in post #3 and #5 (on page 1)!!!

I'm really hoping there might be someone out there with a small stash of Houndooms available that can help me out!

Yeah, at the last pre-release I wasn't expecting to play, but I did because our PTO didn't need one of the judges. So it came as a bit of a surprise when Branko and I were matched against one another. Kind of a tight battle too, but there was one participant sitting next to us, making it hard to concentrate, that shall we say wasn't being rather sportsmanlike in his behaviour. Branko called him 'my screaming helper.' I won that battle, so I think that's why he said i bit him. Anyways, the dark houndooms are going fast. I've only got about 8 left. Hope you let me know soon. I don't mind sending and we can settle up on them later. I think you're good for it. LOL.

If you mean a reverse holo of a holo, sure. That works for me. Do you have any in particular reverses in mind? If possible, I'd like to see a kingdra, or dark steelix, but I'm sure you'll give good value, what ever you have in mind. Shall we say 7 pre-releases to be on the safe side?

How much of each holo do you need??
I opened 7 boxes... i am willing to trade most of my holos... a lot of them are mint... the ones that are i can let you know plus i have some of the exs from them... if you want to trade for them i can trade with you but before i listed them i wanted to know the ratio of holos to ex you would trade and what quantities of each card you are looking for...

Drew - Well, we're needing 1 of each holo (and ex) for the family collection, and then I'll be looking for 2 - 3 of each for the trade/deck-building binder. Deck-building can be non-mint cards (at a discount :wink:). I generally trade 2 holos = 1 holo ex (for average-demand cards). Of course there are both holos and holo ex that are more in-demand, and command a premium...

Cheryl - thanks for the heads-up on the (hopefully) 2nd printing! I'm am awaiting a couple boxes for judging from our area PTO (we ran her out at Sunday's States!!!), so they've been ordered and will hopefully be minty-mint!

(I still must make a list of exes...)
