Water Pokemon Master

...was aired today in the UK as a part of Pokemon Chronicles.
The first Chronicles aired in the Uk today. For those unaware, it is the first part of Legend of Thunder. There are 3 parts overall.
I watched it, and was pretty awesome. I'm never too passionate about the anime, but this was a very refreshing change, with brilliant drawing and fluent fighting.
There are, actually, some new names for characters. Yoshi and Dani are no more! Unfortunately, neither is Jackson.
Yoshi is called Jimmy.
Dani is Marina (YES!)
Junichi/Jackson is now Vincent.
Ok, so a BIG slip up there, renaming a dubbed character, but it isn't too bad. Vincent never appeared for long. Only on a video phone.
Jimmy, while perhaps sounding a bit crap, is actually a pretty good name. He sounds sort of like a normal trainer, but he has a few "dudes" and "man" in there too, making him pretty relaxed and casual. He's fairly psyched in battles, however. His name is sort of laid back and lazy, and it fits him well.
Marina's fairly hyper, and she wants to be a famous actress when she's older. She does a lot of dancing and manoevuring in her match with Jimmy, which seems to irritate Jimmy a lot.
Marina's Pokemon are nicknamed as follows:
Misdreavus: Lil Mis
Jigglypuff: Pink/Lil Pink (she called it Pink when releasing it but reffered to it as Lil Pink for the rest of the match).
Croconaw: Waniwani!!!!
Typhlosion keeps his BakuBaku japanese voice. Jigglypuff's sing attack was also the same as it is with Ash & Co, just so you know.
Lance was also mentioned (Marina is a big fan), but under the name Fabu-Lance. A play on words, but I think since he's been established in the anime before, and more memorable than Vincent was, it's just a stage name and he'll be reffered to as Lance.
Atilla and Hun are the dub names for the rockets. Atilla is the big muscled guy, and Hun is the thin, grey haired one. Makes sense. Hun is, in the dub, female, and I believe she was male in the original. This probably just coincides with her name. Hun. Hun for a boy? Don't think so. Oh well.
Atilla has Skarmory and Hun has Steelix.
The intro was basically some really cliched Pokemon song with clips from the various Chronicles. I did see Celebi, Ivysaur, Aerodactyl, Salamence and Moltres, so we know the later Hoso's are dubbed into Chronicles.
Also, for those of you who don't know, the episode starts with Jimmy battling a Hitmonlee Trainer. Hitmonlee had a disgustingly different voice, sounding like Hitmontop. Luckily the match was short.
After this battle, there was a mini-intro featuring the Hoenn Narrator explaining that Jimmy wanted to be a Pokemon Trainer, and tucked away in the land was the creature Raikou. This led to a title screen "Legend of Thunder...." before we saw the words "Part 1".
The quality was superb. For those who saw the original, part 1 ended with Atilla and Hun preparing to battle Jimmy.
I can't believe they changed the sex of one of the characters. That is just...odd.
