I wouldn't worry about. Just get your own board and moderate that.

www.ezboard.com
The difficult part is getting people to go there without SPAMing.

There are a lot of services for that. Just search the web.

We use people in the Witness Protection Program as Moderators.
It cuts down on the overhead.

I knew I recognised 'Sensei from somewhere! Excuse me...
But seriously, if you have any ideas or comments, just tell them to the actual mods-they'll be more than happy to listen.

You could trade 'Pop the last card he needs to complete his 1st ed. Jungle set. Or was it Fossil?

I was told that I was a mod once, and apparently everyone was in on the joke as I tried to desperatley lock things :(

Didn't there used to be some sort of initiation ritual involving Maple Bars?
Either way, you don't want to mod this place. You should enjoy the fine job the current mods are already doing. ;)

Fossil. I got a second box of Jungle 1st to complete that set.
Also, you need to trade me that Gym starter set to keep your mod status...

Wait, so it doesn't cost anything to run the Pokegym? I thought it would for sure...

... who ever said it didnt cost anything? I dont understand where you would have gotten that idea. This board is in no way related to ezboard, and if you do some research, you will realize that the message board alone costs a pretty penny.

How to become a mod? That's one of the question asked by ambitious people. I have the hard copy of an annoucement of SD_Pokemom being elected as a mod. Smell with you guys later.

Do u have to pay at ezbords??

No, but but if you don't you get ads out the wazoo.

ezboard is free. But as Orange Soda said, you will get popups and other ads. Pay accounts will have those ads removed.

Here's what I've learned from many places with message boards...
Rule of thumb: Those who ask to become mods when not qualified NEVER become mods. ^_^
Personally, I don't think I would enjoy being a mod...I'm too lazy for that. ^_^

Eh, all a mod can do is Edit, Lock, Unlock, Move, and Delete. Admins get the cool powers, but mods just get those 5. It's really not that much to brag about, unless you think it would be ideal to be able to wake up in the morning and yell "HEY, WORLD! I CAN EDIT, LOCK, UNLOCK MOVE, AND DELETE! MWA HA HA!"

The Admins get the "cool powers", but at the same time, depending on the size f the board and the powers the admin has, it can be strenuous and frustrating. And unless you are of the "deciding few" of the board, it can be a headache when wrong choices are made that you cant do anything about.
Orange Soda, you're so full of good wisdom :)

I am a mod in other site. Everything remains the same except you can do something to a person's post (like Orange Soda said), access to the "moderator lounge", can view a person's IP address. These are tips I can offer you to be elected as a mod, but you need luck as well.
You have to be interested in what the board discusses. Other than that, you need:
She has been an active member of the Community, maintains a positive outlook, is always willing to help, and offers sound advice that helps newcomers become good members of the Gym
Quote from a topic in Wizards Pokegym, posted by Big Daddy Snorlax on December 14, 2001, 02:56 PM PST. Titled Announcing PokeGym's Newest Moderator. Content is about SD_Pokemom being elected as a moderator.
For those who joined Wizpog that time, they know about that.

Well, every board has its own views as to who should be selected a mod.
When I ran the PokeIsle, I looked for users who were first reliable, had a good head on their shoulders, and those who I thought wouldnt become power hungry. One of the worst things a mod or admin can be is power hungry. Another thing an admin looks for are those who have a drive for the topic of the board. You can easily meet the above requirements, but if you dont have a drive for the topic, you really arent suitable for the job.
These are only my opinions.
Oh, and one thing you never do... ask to be a mod. Your chances of being chosen are usually 1 in 1000 anyways, and admins get annoyed by people who TRY to be a mod.

Are you Mods and Admins friends? Do you know each other? How did you guys meet each other to make up this pokegym?

That's pretty much why I decided to just be a regular member. You don't see me often outside the non-pokemon themed forums. Better to let those with commitment in than drag everyone else down.

My story begins on WizPoG, just after the original PokeGym. I befriended most of the admins, moderators and MT's just through the STS's and messages on the board. I was hired in many months ago on here to get things rolling for when WizPoG was to go down. When it came down to it, I was the one that the administrators knew could take on the tasks of getting things going, all the "backend tech stuff".

Back on the original subject, being a mod is like being a shift leader at a fast food joint. You don't want to have to order people to do their jobs, you want to be the best friend a co-worker can have in their job, but alot of times lots of people are irresponcible hot-tempered kaihoots that need seasoning (just like me).
