Black Star & Shadowless?

What's the difference from these cards and the others?

Black Star commonly means promo - they were printed with a black star with the word "PROMO" arched across it in the spot where the set logo would go. Occasonally someone will use the term to mean a rare card (usually the non-holo rare card).

Shadowless is a term used for the first unlimited printing of the Base set. First Edition Base set was printed without the shadow around the picture (look at a Pokémon card and you will see a shadow on the right hand side and the bottom.). When Unlimited was printed, it was also with out the shadow. Later printings of Base came with the shadow.
