All Professors in the World(s) have been kidnapped by the Roketto Dan! So, they have to play and fight against each other with Team Rocket cards, the only ones Roketto Dan has!
Try to win an exclusive Pokémon TCG card, booster packs, and many many other goodies!


Format: Swiss in round robin with 30 card deck (round robin: you will be splitted in 8-people pods, and you will play a game with each other player in the pod)
+
Single Elimination with 60 card deck (Winner from each pod goes to Single Elimination)

Decks can be totally different from the Round Robin to the Single Elimination, or simply the Single Elimination can be the 30-card deck expanded with 30 more cards, or a mix...

30-card decks may have more than 4 copies of cards with the same name.

Round Robin games will be played with 3 prizes.

For this tournament, you can use cards from

* Team Rocket
* EX Team Rocket Returns
* Dark Pokémon with their basic forms, and all Trainer cards from Neo Destiny
* Rocket's Pokémon & Giovanni's Pokémon from Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge, plus all Trainer cards with Rocket or Giovanni in their names (and all Rocket's Secret Robots or Machine cards)

You can use also reprinted version of the cards from those sets (such as promo Dark Persian, LC Dark Blastoise, and so on)

You can also use these promos:

* Rocket's Raikou ex
* Rocket's Persian ex (now it is announced)
* #16 Computer Error
* #18 Team Rocket's Meowth
* Best #4 Rocket's Scizor
* Best #5 Rocket's Sneasel

Deadline and Requirements:

You have from NOW to August 16th to sign in for this awesome event!
In order to participate, you have to reply to this topic with your screen name on the Gym.

Here are the requirements for this tournament (at least 1 of those):

* Be a Pokémon Professor (please bring you Professor ID card or any other method of certification in order to be recognized as an official Professor)
* Be a member of the PUI staff
* Be a PCL member
* Be among the first 50 people to subscribe.

Notes

PCL and PUI staff can participate in the event without signing in in this topic :)

If we'll have less than 32 people signed in, we'll accept people to play at the time of the start of the tournament (they still have to follow the above guidelines).

PCL is the japanese Pokémon Card Laboratory, with member of Creatures, Inc. (yeah, the same guys who create Pokémon cards!)

Pop: you are allowd to use all cards with the Team Rocket or TRR set symbol... so, even the non-dark or non-Rocket from these sets are allowed :)

Metagross, thanks for remembering me to add to the Promo list the Darkness Energies and Metal Energies, so you can use both of them :)

EHeheh obiouvsly, at least 1 of these requirements ;) I see really difficult that one can be together a Professor, a PUI employee, and a PCL employee :)

Then, 60 card-decks have to follow the regular standard (so 4 copies for cards with same name).
And then, in order to be a Professor (and having a Professor ID card or another type or certification), you have to be 15 years old or more, and then pass the Professor test on the Pokémon TCG website :)

If someone is playing in Worlds main event, does that mean they can't join this?

It's a cool idea, but i feel TR set is going to get the shaft, as TRR is basically the same set only the dark pokemon actually have good hp.... and just a bunch of darkdragonite/darkelectrode decks :/

Venusaur, if you're a prof but you have no ID card, you may bring with you any proof of your Professorship (a copy of the email saying that you've passed the test, or an image of your Gym screenname with the Prof logo (but I see you don't have one), or an image of your My Pokémon account with the Professor section active :)

Metal/Dark are allowed as promos, check the first post.
The real question is, what about the Dark cards from Destiny? They could make a huge difference.

also, can i sign up, even though i am unsure, do to the fact that i am playing in the grinder on friday? so like, if i play in worlds, and i am in the top cut which would be sunday (i assume), i probably won't participate in this tournament because i would want to go to bed early.

I'm going to make one more suggestion, regarding the trainers in the Gym sets. I suggest that you allow all trainers with either Rocket, or Giovanni in their names in, as well as all Rocket's Secret Machines. And I would include Imp. Prof Oak as well, just because.

Such as? Boss's Way is another Rocket's Pokeball, Nightly Garbage Run is ok, but no worse then Retriever or Recycle System. None of the trainers I am asking to be let in are really any good at all, and several of them have the ugly words: Your turn ends immediatly (you don't get to attack). What are you thinking of?

Regarding the Rocket's and Giovanni's trainers in Gym expansions - yeah I can allow them, because they're Rocket-related.

I can make a generic rule that can make us all happy:

* All Trainer cards from the Gym expansion with Rocket or Giovanni in their names (and all Rocket's Secret Robots or Machine cards)

Another geeral rule, is that - as long as a card has the Team Rocket and EX Team Rocket Returns expansion symbol, they are allowed. So yeah, the star Pokémon from that expansion are allowed.

For Imp.Prof Oak, it becomes too hard to allow single cards from various expansions, so I didn't allow this card, and maybe some other cards.

I was suprized how easy my 30 card deck came together. still working on the 60 card version. I have a couple of questions.
30 card decks means 3 prize games, correct?
And I'm assuming all current beginning the game rules apply (first turn no draw, no supporters)?
