Hey, I am raising a Machoke on Sapphire, and I was wondering what a good moveset is. Please explain what the moves do and why they should be there as well.

ive already raised one and i would choose:
Revenge- if you just took damage it has a bonus
counter- retaliates any physical attack
submission- strong fighting attack, has recoil
strength- you cant beat the game without it, just delete it afer you get through victory road for something else

Here's what I already have:

Revenge
Seismic Toss (For those resistant to Fighting)
Karate Chop
Vital Throw

If a move should be replaced, please tell which move to replace it with.

Yeah, if you're looking at lv100's, Seismic Toss is a must...

I'd suggest Foresight (to negate their Double-Team/Minimize), Cross Chop (good attack power- improved criticals) and Revenge (if your pokemon is slower than theirs), or as an alternative...

try Vital Throw (attacks second, but next turn you've got almost 100% accuracy), DynamicPunch (50% accuracy, but it confuses them, along with big damage), and Protect (just in case)

My suggestions don't include TM's that you can't replace, and bred moves, so if you've got a vanilla Machoke and no cash, and don't want to breed again, these are worth a shot.
Let me know what you think...

If you wanna breed/use TMs I would suggest

Rock Slide (fore flyers, easy to do, through Spinda)
Return/Bulk Up
Revenge/Cross Chop/Brick Break (dont need 4 fighting moves.... sorry)
Rest/Submission/Foresight

If you use Bulk, definitely Chesto + Rest, but with a high AT, and high powered attacks already without, a straight out attacker with a Shell Bell or Lefties is pretty well off. Not to mention, without Rest/Bulk you dont waste any limited TMs................

Rock Slide (high powered Rock move, if you strike first, a chance of flinch). You will have to breed. Chain is not to bad, Ryhorn/Rydon-Spinda-Machop

Return- Normal type attack, gets stronger the more the Pokemon likes you. TM only, but you can get 1 every 7 days from guy in Pacifalog (bottom left corner house). TM27. Could also use Frustration, but requires more work to get Pokemon not to like you trust me.....

Bulk Up - have to burn the TM, ups you AT and DF 1 level. TM 08

Revenge and C Chop explained, Brick Break is a TM only move, will destroy Light Screen/Reflect. TM 31. Only suggest it if you face alot of Screeners

Rest, TM only TM 44, regenerates all HP, negates status's, and falls asleep for 2 turns

If and when a Curselax, or simular Pokemon appears, Encore/ Submision may be a good way to go as well............

Everthing else seems to be explained above

Ok, here's what I'm probably going to go with:

Revenge
Return
Seismic Toss
Cross Chop (though I'll have to level up a bit to get it)
