Not to implant a sad thought in the back of your minds, but has anyone ever wondered what's going to happen to Pokemon when Satoshi Tajiri dies? You can replace his job, but you can't replace the fact that he created Pokemon...

Mmm....did Disney 'die' when Walt passed?

How about Henson productions? The Muppets are still alive and well...

Superman? Batman?

If the company is well structured, with the right people in place, it can continue. I'd assume Pokemon will be the same way.

I'd have to say Disney is pretty much dying....
As has the Muppets and Superman (batman's got a good cartoon now)

no, in walt's day disney had integrity. today's disney has decided to make a sequel of every disney movie (good or bad) and if that sequel does well, they make another one. these sequels are mostly video/dvd only since none of them are theater worthy. anyway, all good things come to an end. when the end of pokemon will be is unforeseen, but it's not like everything already made will just disappear. as long as you have the memory, then it will live on.

Satoshi Tajiri is like in his thirties, and he really is not even in charge anymore from what I have gathered. I believe he is really only in control of the video games now, and that the Anime and TCG are done by two completely different groups (I believe that's how it has always been). Ken Sugimori is like one of the heads now, so if Tajiri dies, it probably will not affect anything, and there will be others to fill the place.

Nah, wait until you see my "how many babies do you punch a day?" thread. j/k. but why think about pokemon creators dying when they're still really young...

odd, I thought he was older then that. Pokemon's been around in Japan for what, about 10 years now? If WPM is right, that would put him in his twenties when he made Pokemon. Odd...

Well, he did start Gamefreak Magazine when he was in college, and Pokemon soon after, so it's not that hard to believe. The concept of Pokemon was in his head since he was a teenager.

Hopefully most of us will all be fully grown up and not playing a card game before Pokemon dies......

oh, so you're saying grown ups can't play card games? There's PLENTY of "grown-ups" playing Pokemon...the head judges at major tournaments, too. =/

if i do my math right Satoshi 's age in 50 years 30+50=80

my age 50 years 11+50=61

So when Satoshi is 80or around that age, i'll be 61. Since i'm the 2nd youngest on pokegym (i think) so some of you might be dead already like some people in there twenties, is going to be in the seventies. But if technology advances even more, we can live to be in the 100's like what i learned in social studies class.

I'm saying that most people here will get proper jobs and forget about pokemon.

But now the remark is ruined based on clarification

No, there are definately people younger then you here.
And besides, we never know how long a person will live. Satoshi might live to only be 50, or he might live to be 110. We never know.

But yeah, as if thinking about satoshi dying wasn't enough, way to insert the thought into people's heads about THEM dying.

Satoshi might live to only be 50, or he might live to be 110. We never know.On the other hand, doesn't Japan have the highest life expectancy in the world?

Pokemon Might keep on going (hopefully) but I am pretty confident that Pokemon will keep working its efforts and keep on going on and on. When Milton hershey died chocolate kept on getting made so yeah im pretty confident that Pokemon will still be active. I really dont think that he will die anytime soon though. But just in case.

Do I even need to point out why this quote is funny?
Yes?
Too bad, someone else can if they want =P.

Anyways...yeah. He's prolly not gonna die soon. Hopefully.
