Plan now to attend the 3rd annual North Carolina State Championship coming in March 2006!!! See below for details…

IMPORTANT: State Championships are ONE and DONE. This means if you win one you CANNOT compete in any other 2006 State Championships.

Directions
I-40 East or I-40 West to I-85 South to the US-311 exit. Turn right onto US-311 and go about 2-3 miles. The store is in the same shopping center as Buy Rite Furniture and Copperhood Grill & Sports Bar.

I-85 North to the US-311 (exit 111). Turn left onto US-311 and go about 2-3 miles. The store is in the same shopping center as Buy Rite Furniture and Copperhood Grill & Sports Bar.

Format
Modified (Ex Hidden Legends through latest Set including Nintendo black star promo cards 027 and above and POP Series 1 & 2 ). If card has been reprinted in one of the sets mentioned above the older version can be used (i.e. Warp Point, TV Reporter, etc).

Rounds
Based on attendance. After swiss rounds are completed, cut to single elimination per age group with 1 hour match, best 2 of 3 (top ?? will be based on attendance per age group).

1st Place
Pokemon TCG State Championship Trophy
A $300 travel stipend to attend the Origins International Game Expo and participate in the Pokémon TCG National Championships. This award will be given on-site at the event.
Four-day admission to the Origins Game Expo in Columbus, Ohio
36 booster packs
Prize bag with goodies

2nd Place
16 booster packs

3rd & 4th Place
8 booster packs

5th through 8th Place
4 booster packs

9th and after
1 booster pack

Everyone will receive a participant pin, promo card, and Series 2 POP booster packs while supplies last!!!

I will announce it over here since it is more than likely that TN States will be in Memphis, this will be the closest states to us (unless you hold SC in Anderson).

If I could get MetaNite to beat this deck, I'd run it, but so far it's had quite a bit of trouble with it. And dude, don't miss a Pokemon event for a concert, that's like missing Haley's Comet to watch some fireworks or something.

im not going to the concert, i work at a radio station, and i have to help put on the concert. Thats why i missed so many events last year. I usually broadcast live from the concert, then go on stage do giveaways, and then take the photos, get the autographs, do the station drops, find the groupies...ect

It used to be fun but after 3 years, it gets boring, and im tired of comming home smelling like smoke and sweat... anyway the concert is in greenville about 2 and a half hours from high point and i have to be there at 8 or 9pm. which means i'd have to leave by6-7pm latest. im guessing WHEN IM IN THE FINALS...lol i wont be done till what 8-9...which means if i cant stay to finish, theres really no point in comming. but i still not giving up yet...

Ah, I see. I know full well how all of that goes. I've been volunteering at a venue called Cafe Jam for about 3 years as well, doing everything from video editing to running the soundboard. And yeah, after such a long time of doing such work, it gets rather tiring.

If you do end up coming, it'd be good to see you again. I'll get you to sign one of my Legend Maker Muk's, haha. And good luck on that secret deck of yours. :thumb:

4th, 8th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 2nd....and the worst part is that the two 2nd place finishes i coulda come in first, but both times it all came down to 1 MISPLAY everyplay counts! So now that ive learned my lesson...:biggrin:

2 days 11 hours,OH YEAH!!! This is gonna be great!(So long as I can get a ride with Tommy or
Speedy,or maybe Keith),but,yeah! Oh,I almost forgot.Hey Prime,what kind of food places do we have to choose from around here,or do you know?Does anyone know what food places they have within a mile or 2 of the tourney?Happy 16th Kevin!

Food:

A Taco Bell is within walking distance, but there's an entire strip of fast food restaurants on the road that DJ's is on. You have Burger King, McDonald's, KFC, Wendy's, Subway, Pizza Hut, and a few others all within a mile of DJ's. There is a small strip mall nearby with a K-Mart, where you can find a La Hacienda (one of my personal favorites), a Golden Dragon (or something like that, it's Chinese), and some kind of restaurant that's like a smaller version of Golden Corral. Across the street from that strip mall is a Sir Pizza, a Pizza Vino's, and an Arby's. On the other side across is a Pizza Inn and some place called Pancho Villa's (I ate there for my mother's birthday, but I don't remember what I had).

Of all those places, Sir Pizza is definitely my favorite, especially if you like pizza. Just beware of the jukebox, I remember the Dave Matthews Band being turned suspiciously into Dolly Parton. Hmmm...

Sorry for the late post. Just got done working another crazy week of 60 hours in 4 days. Thanks to everyone for travelling to NC's third annual State Championship!!! Special thanks to everyone who travelled from TN, SC, and GA to attend. Also a huge thanks to Randy M, Stephan V, and my wife for all their help in running this event. Without you this would not have happened!!! See final standings below with pictures. Look forward to seeing everyone next weekend in South Carolina.
