This week we publish the long awaited ruling change about moving energy cards to an invalid target.
It is now confirmed that you can do it either to yourself or your opponent and that the card is immediately discarded.
Enjoy!

== DARK TRANCE (Dark Dragonite - EX:Team Rocket Returns)
Q. If I use "Energy Trans" or "Dark Trance" to move a Double Rainbow Energy to my own Basic Pokemon, would the DRE get discarded if I do this?
A. Yes, it would. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
Q. Once I attach R-Energy to a Dark/Rocket's Pokemon, can I then use "Dark Trance" to move it to a non-Dark or non-Rocket's Pokemon?
A. Yes, but if you do so the R-Energy would have to be discarded since it cannot be attached to a non-Dark or non-Rocket's Pokémon. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
== ENERGY TRANS (Venusaur - Base Set; Sceptile - EX:Ruby/Sapphire)
Q. If I use "Energy Trans" or "Dark Trance" to move a Double Rainbow Energy to my own Basic Pokemon, would the DRE get discarded if I do this?
A. Yes, it would. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
== METAL NAVIGATION (Starmie - EX:Delta Species)
Q. Can I use Starmie's "Metal Navigation" to search my deck for a Dark Metal Energy card?
A. No, while Dark Electrode's "Darkness Navigation" explicitly says you can, Starmie's "Metal Navigation" does not explicitly say you can search your deck for a Dark Metal Energy card. Sorry. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)

POKEMON ATTACKS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
== ENERGY BOMB (Dark Electrode - EX:Team Rocket Returns)
Q. If I have DRE & Darkness on a Dark Electrode with all basics on my bench, can I move just the Darkness to my benched basic and keep the DRE on the Dark Electrode?
A. Nope, if you choose to move ANY energies with "Energy Bomb", you must move them ALL. So if you move the DRE to a basic Pokemon when using the optional "may move" effect, it will be discarded. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TRAINER CARDS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
== HOLON FARMER (EX:Delta Species)
Q. When you discard a card to play Holon Farmer, can you recover that discarded card into your deck?
A. No, you cannot. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)
== HOLON RESEARCHER (EX:Delta Species)
Q. Can I use Holon Researcher to search my deck for a Dark Metal Energy card?
A. No, you can only search for the "Metal Energy" card; you cannot search for Rainbow, Dark Metal, etc. (Dec 1, 2005 PUI Rules Team)

ENERGY CARDS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
== R ENERGY (EX:Team Rocket Returns)
***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above *****
Q. Once I attach R-Energy to a Dark/Rocket's Pokemon, can I then use "Dark Trance" to move it to a non-Dark or non-Rocket's Pokemon?
A. No, the R-Energy card can NEVER become attached to a non-Dark or non-Rocket's Pokemon. And if the card it was originally attached to somehow devolves into a non-Dark Pokemon (i.e. Dark Dragonair becoming regular Dratini), the R-Energy would be discarded similar to the behavior of Double Rainbow Energy.
