View Full Version : Mew ex twins + Victreebel LM? Just how good would this be?

Well, I was writing an article the other day for a friend, about Mew ex from EX Holon Phantoms. While looking for combo cards I found it makes an interesting companion to Victreebel from EX Legend Maker. And while we're there, the other Mew ex can be added for the sake of using Psychic Vision freely while still attacking with Devo Crush.
So, now I'm seriously considering to make a deck with these, but I just wanted some opinions on how you think this combo would perform on the next format. And... If adding Metagross from EX Deoxys is a good idea at all.
Right now, most decks use Stage 2 Pokémon, and every one of them has Rare Candies. Not only that, but they rely a lot on those Pokémon (Pidgeot, Blastoise ex, MetaNite). The point? Drag them with Nectar Pod, then Devo Crush discarding the two Energies and probably KO them if they're candied.
Hmm so... Well...

Metagross DX or something to revive discarded energies onto the active.

I would just use reversal or pow rather than an extra stage 2 line to pull out benched stuff.

no i think victreebell is fine.
It provides some extra attacks and its power is good, and it doesnt need a flip.
but u should still use pow and reversals in the deck tho

Lunasol doesn't use Stage 2s. Dragtrode uses Stage 2s but usually not Rare Candy. Mewtric and Mynx both lack Stage 2s as well. Your strategy won't work at all unless you face certain types of decks. When you metagame, you must consider ALL decks.

Hope the following doesn't count as a Deck strategy post...
For now, adding in Latios* seems a good idea, along with Metagross DX. This way Mew ex/Latios* can be charged up on 1 turn (attach 2 [P] Energies with Super Connectivity, then a Holon's Pokémon as the one attachment per turn) and KO non-candied Stage 2's.

Seems I still have too much to learn when making strategies... Thank you for pointing out these decks to me.
Now, searching for threads about LunaSol, I don't think I would have too much trouble with it, since Solrock is weak to [G] (and I can just go and attack with Victreebel, since LunaSol doesn't use Stage 2 Pokémon), and for Lunatone I can Sleep Poison it, then use Sharp Leaf. I don't have any [C] or [F] Pokémon, so their Poké-Bodies won't affect me in any way.
As for Dragtrode, adding Latios* seems to do the trick. Even with Rocket's Hideout in play, I can KO Dark Dragonite in one hit with Shining Star. Still, I have to be careful not to get KOed by Claw Swipe, and have to consider using Pokémon Reversal so I can target the Dark Electrodes.
Mewtric relies on EX Legend Maker Mew ex too, and with Holon's Pokémon I can use the same attacks as the opponent, unless I happen to have a Mew ex HP as Active (and the opponent having Manectric ex). Not only that, but Mew ex is weak to its same type. The result would depend on who gets to charge Mew ex first. Its a similar case against Mynx.
But I think I have to take this to the Deck Help and Strategy section, as it is becoming more like a deck discussion rather than single card strategy.
Thank you all for your replies, and suggestions!

Find a way to use it in Mynx.
