You could also add accounting student to that first sentence, as math is pretty important to me. Anyways, lets just let {R}Vistor continue to be delusional.
As for "auto-losses," that excuse should start to disappear with Diamond and Pearl coming out as most cards will add damage for weakness, rather than a straight doubling of the base damage, which I personally am looking forward to.
I dunno about that, it will still be difficult to make entire decks out of dp cards. Not to mention, the Lv. X cards still have double weakness, so having your major attacker have that drawback will still come into play. Besides, autolosses don't have to mean weakness. Banette autolosses to Metanite, but it doesn't play on any weaknesses.
Heh, forgot accounting student, I'm not a calculus student anyway, I'm a biology student, although statistical analysis is still important to research and analyzing results, it's not everything.

An impressive performence that comes to a screeching halt because I can't get energy or draw...still had fun though.
Especially playing Smash afterwards under the always hilarious Phantom's Rules...its a good thing we didn't switch to the Ultimate Pokemon Battle Rules that I have, as that would have been pure chaos. :p

The closest you'll get to a SMASH tourney is the fact that we were playing highly competitive games for fun and I think Zane and I were even with wins when I shut the Wii down at 11ish. The two of just handed out huge amounts of beatings (I finished with around 120 KOs, he had about 50). We didn't play under "tournament" rules though.
Instead, we played under the ever entertaining Phantom's Rules, which is 5 stock, no time limit, all items (at normal rate) and a random stage selected from all the stages (with the exception of 1 Pokemon Stadium and 1 Hyrule Temple). The best matches were the Pikachu (me) vs. Falco (Zane) matches, when we were able to elimate the competition quickly, and then duke it out between the 2 of us. I think things would have been more comical though if we had done my favorite, the Complete Pokemon Free-for-All Rules.

Yes by making the finals I was not refering to making the actual final match. In my mind there are two parts of a tourney. Part 1 is Swiss play where everyone particpates. Part 2 is the finals where the top players duel it out in best 2 out of 3 matches.

How it should have been
All players not in line by 10:30 am will receive a first round loss. The tournament will be held in the Gymnasium. Follow signs in parking lot to available parking and the Gymnasium. The Gameboy tournament will be before the TCG tournament.   :thumb:
There was plenty of room to post info on the Gameboy tournament who ever put that up is a total idiot I mean only one’s dumber is those that needed the direction’s posted especially when the location was already provided.
(Ues mapquest/Or some of thest sites for direction's (http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF8&z=3&om=1&q=directions&tab=lw))
Excuse me...If you have any problems with the GameBoy tournament, direct them to me, and don't be calling people idiots, thats just not nice to be doing. By the way, the FIRST POST of this thread said that the GBA Tourney was going to be before the main event (aka the main tournament)...heck, here is the info as it appeared in Terry's post:
Game Boy Tournament
The Game Boy Tournament will be taking place during registration...I hope to start the tournament about an hour before the "Main Event" takes place...I just have figure out when the "Main Event" will start...
IMPORTANT NOTE: I can not stress this enough, but anyone interested in particpating in the Game Boy tournament, that will also be playing in the tournament, MUST HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED and gone through DECK CHECK and anything else nessecary to play. Those running the Game Boy tournament will not be responsible for anyone who neglects to turn in a decklist before coming to play in (or even signing up for) the Game Boy Tournament.
All players must bring their own Game Boy Advance, and must have a copy of either Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen.
Link Cables to be supplied (if you have one...you can bring it if you wish)
4-on-4 Double Battles
Level 100 (recommended) or lower
Any of the 386 Pokemon are permitted for use
All 4 Pokemon must be different, and cannot have a nickname of another Pokemon (no Torchic named Treecko etc.)
Held Items may be used, all Pokemon must hold different items.
Restrictions: No Wobbuffet w/ Leftovers, and NO Soul Dew
Tournament will be single elimination. Finals could be held using Pokemon XD.
Matches will have a possible time limit of 10 minutes, and the finals will hopefully have a 15 minute time limit at the most.
Prizes will be determined depending interest...
I don't appear to have left anything out of that, as that is exactly as it was posted by me in the States thread (and copied by Terry for Regionals). If anything, apparently I should have stated no cheating, as I assumed everyone would know better, but...anyways, Regionals is over, so get over it. But still, if you want to live in the past, and you have any questions/complaints about how the GBA tourney was run, you can either PM me, or post them here I guess.

I think the computer will automatically update at midnight.
Btw, whoever argued over which pod was harder, the whole top 4 came from pod 2, and thats not including Washington State Champion Levi c and 1st seed Theron B.

The ratings automatically update at 1am Pacific time.
It takes about 10-15 minutes, so check back at 1:15am and it should be done.
BTW, there's a problem with the ratings. How do I contact Terry about this?

Technically, we had no 3rd/4th place...we had an issue with someone cheating in the tournament, and he had to be DQ'd.
there's a lot of things I can say about that guy, the most accurate ryhmes with "Flea-Lard".
Anyway, good tourney, but nobody I know likes the hectic starting time, but, hey, it works, only two or three people didn't get to play, unfortunatly. Might want to work on that, if possible. DEFINETLY mention the no-cheating thing, that guy got VERY far, elminating MANY players who deserved a fair shot at winning, not that it's your fault, the guy was just a moron. Like I mentioned at the event, after our first round of GBA tournies, I immedietly check the teams of the winners. Immedietly, before they have time to swap guys out.
But, who knows how much of a problem this crap'll be with DP showing up soon.
Hope to play you soon, at anything, mr phantom.

I'd suggest PMing Pokeplayer or email through his profile.

Some dude i've absolutely never seen before, both in oregon and washington, so, I can't really say. Phantom might have a name or something, but i've never seen the guy, ever.
He was walkin' around with a Cacturne with all it's stats bumped to 999, 999 hp, defense, attack, etc, which is considerably impossible, for those who don't know. Some kids have done the same at the oregon tournies and they too were kicked out immedietly. The good thing about these kinds of people is they don't at all try very hard to conceal it.
As soon as I attacked his Cacturne and it did virtually no damage, I frowned and said "I smell a hack-turne" and he was dumb enough to say "wow you're the first one today to figure it out, that was really fast."
OOPS! You're a n00b, disqualification!

how does someone cheat in a gameboy tournament?
You hack a Pokemon's stats so they are way higher than they should be. (i.e. 999/999 HP for a Cacturne)
I wasn't there for the end, who got caught cheating?
If your talking about the Game Boy tournament, I have his name, but don't feel like throwing him under the bus.
But I will take [R]Visitor's idea and check games after the first round to try and eliminate cheaters from the tournament. Also, as far as the time of the tourney, that's Terry's call, not mine.

Well, maybe we can work something out. All's I know is, before the card tourney starts, it's not guranteed that everyone'll be there, and after the tournament starts, it is guranteed. Again, not my tourney, just making some suggestions, because otherwise, the tournies are just fine. Your rule setup is a refreshing and different from mine, so that's a plus too.
