I am curious about what is a good number of people for States and if it needs to broken down for age group?

Being in Texas then I expect it to be big. I will be at Oklahoma as well. That one is one that was reported earlier that 50+ have said they would be at in the States category. I know that is close to what was there for City Championships. The difference is that seems like there will be many more people from all over. Is there usually a huge jump over City and States? I am curious about if more people travel for States or if not close then pass them up.

The fact that there is a thread asking for a head count for the Oklahoma States is what has motivated me to ask. I don't know if the points system plays into the travel decision or if just the chance to play and win. I just figure that previous years should not be much different from this year. I remember meeting a lot of different people from all over because of Gym challenges and Regionals. States seem to generally be for a smaller crowd but slightly increased over Citys.

I remember seeing a few states last year barely had 20 people and then there is Texas.

I'll edit the number when I find the exact total.

To give you an idea for the previous years. The CC listed was the largest one in OK that year.

04 CC - 38 players - 5,1120,2
04 States - 48 players - 8,12,26,2

05 CC - 49 players -9,9,31
05 States - 62 players - 9,15,38

06 CC - 39 players - 5,11,23
06 States - 63 players - 5,17,41

07 CC - 52 players - 8,8,36
07 States - ? (My prediction) - 98 players - 12,16,70

I think all Saturday States are going to be judged on the "80" category just as cities were judged on the "50" category.

You get more than 50, you are big. Get less, you are small.

Sunday States should be entertaining, as I have NO idea what to expect in Missouri. I am hoping to hit 80 or more.

I have a good feeling Oklahoma will be above the 80 mark.

I just hope to see 8/8/8 so we have full separation. Less than 8 in any division would be tragic for the entire event, as it is like throwing points away.

It is Birch and Old Man's area, and I know they will do everything they can, as they always do!

Man, I hope we make an OK choice for States!

Memphis is looking at 80+ with a good spread of folks thru the age groups.

If you want to compete for points...Tennessee is the place to go....Top ranked players in ALL age divisions
