Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm ready. I can't decide which deck to use and I haven't been at league for weeks, so I haven't had the chance to try out my decks against anyone other than my brother.

So I numbered them and rolled a dice, the number I had was the deck I played.
Random choise we call that.

I usually do really well, however, before the start of a new set of series and tournaments, I am usually extremely nervous (Butterflies). I usually feel better after winning my first round of the tournement. I dont know why, but I feel I usually over prepare for events,

Well... let's see. Almost every "archetype" I play with doesn't feel like my proper playing style, so I've gone with an alternate route, which means there'll be a new deck at the end of my States that everyone hears about and copies, or I'll lose. One or the other.

Not really. My oldest son is pretty much good to go, he just wants to do some fine tuning of his deck. My younger son on the other hand changed decks this weekend and I'm not fully confident that he can play it yet. He is going to need to play with it a lot this week. My wife's deck is still waiting for several cards to get here in the mail otherwise it's going to be a bit inconsistant.

And as for me ... I have a rogue deck that I really like, but I'm concerned about a few matchups in particular. I'm so tempted to just fall back on a good old archatype. In the mean time I'm testing a few techs and tweaks as often as I can.

IDK, I tend to think that one would be better prepared if a deck was selected weeks before the event so that ample time can be spent on tweaking the deck and learning the matchups. Leaving the selection of the deck to use until the last minute seems to be risky since it doesn't give you much time to learn the deck inside out.

Well I was set with my deck then it had some trouble against Flariados, but i think that I have figured out what to put in my deck for it(stares and Vaporeon* lol)
And if Cali rumors are true and Shiftry comes to my place, i will just win with my 140 for 2 so im good.

At least you HAVE a Metagame... we just have a whole heap of random decks... which Archetypes don't work against... the Archetype's one weakness...nooby decks lol. I would like some sort of proper Metagame down here, but it just won't happen because people are so negative against Archetypes lol. Pretty much Myself, Archaic, Jade and Grinbag are the only ones open minded to Archetypes...which leaves us in the cold as far as finding competition...due to the fact we're split up all over the country lol. In any case, now you see why i'm not afraid at states...just a whole heap of random decks which are going to feed my rating and push me to the top of Asia-Pacific...and get me an invite!

ACtually, what Pablo meant is that we dont have much of a metagame because only 10% of players play with archtypes, while the 90% use a vague mixing that usually end up doing good due to matchups, we have even seen persian ex in a meowthless deck, or random alakazam star decks doing the unthinkable, so one has to tech or think of options for not only the heavier archtypes one will encounter on round 5 and forward, but on the starnge stuff that gets tossed in the first 3 rounds.
