Can't help but notice a lack of any major POP involvement in this convention, though they are going to be at a bucnh of random ones in las vegas.

POP is involved with this convention as much as previous years.
But yes, after looking at the convention listing, it's easy to see PUI has decided not to have a booth at GenCon, this does not prevent POP from providing support for tournaments at GenCon.
PUI makes the decisions on what conventions they exhibit at.

What's going on in Las Vegas?
Games Expo back in March, and GAMA Trade Show last week. Both are trade shows that are open to Manufacturers, Distributors, and Retailers only.

Perhaps Drew can pack you in one of his bags. But that would only work if you go to Worlds, I believe Drew is planning to fly from Hawaii to Indy.

Prizes for GenCon Championship, I will announce tomorrow.
Yes there are single day passes, I believe they are $40 on site, but go to www.gencon.com for more info on the convention passes.
And yes there is no booth, unfortunately. But it was pushed for, due to the TFG releasing the week of GenCon. But the Pokemon Room will be open from 8am to 10pm Thurs - Sat, and til 4pm on Sunday. We will be having demos of the TCG, and MAYBE the TFG (I hope), going on all weekend.
Expect an update from me tomorrow.

Hey Ryan, would it be possible to vie for a Mutant Draft like at Origins if there was enough interest?
AgentP
07/14/2007, 01:41 PM
Yes, a Mutant Draft is a possibility. Best time would be Thursday, Friday, or Saturday after 8pm, since we are required by GenCon to keep the room open until 10pm. I would follow the same standard that was used at Origins. Bring your own 6 packs, or buy 6 from me, then randomly re-distribute them out to all the players.
If anyone else would be interested in this, please let me know what day would be best for you.

I am sure the level of involvement by the POP staff is limited due to World's being the weekend prior. They wouldn't have time to load up the stuff, fly to GenCon from Hawaii, and set up again.
AgentP

Last year, all they did was ship it to GenCon, have the riggers put up the booth, and have volunteers run the booth, no POP or PUI personel present. That could of been done this year, but yeah, worlds is part of why there is no booth.

I concur, I'd be up for a mutant draft any night. Just give us a heads up so we can bring packs!

Tina, you would love GenCon.
They have like 3 (or more) anime veiwing rooms, and cosplay stuffs going on all weekend.

yeah you would like it. there's alot for anime type peoples to do. but yeah it seemed like they ran movie rooms 24/7 for all four days. You too can be a hentai voice actress/actor! i remember that was one of the big late night events, they like had try outs for the voices etc. i really wanted to go witness the insanity but sleep was more important.
i will say though. there needs to be more for pokemons type peoples to do.
i personally came back emotionally/physically/mentally scarred and exhausted. but part of that may have been from rooming with Drew......
