Does being a VIP player mean that they have won a City or State Challenge from ANYWHERE get the discount or does it only apply to those winners from that state?

~old man~

Good question. If a player has won a "City Championship" or "State Championship" from any other State including the State where the "Gym Challenge" is being held will receive the "VIP" treatment. As you will find out, there are many more advantages to being a "VIP" player!!!!

  ~~~Final Cut to the TOP-???~~~

Ok, I have heard enough from players that go undefeated in their age group and then lose in the Top-??? of their age group because of bad draws and bad luck. After the "Age-Modified Swiss Rounds" are completed, we will cut to the Top-??? (as PUI has determined) before the Swiss rounds begin and the final cut in each age group will be "MATCH PLAY". The best 2 out of three games with an one hour time limit. :thumb:

Below are the rules for the "MATCH PLAY".

*Incomplete games will not count as game wins or losts.

*One hour time limit.

*If less than one game is completed when the time limit is called, the winner of that game is the player who has drawn the most prizes. If at that time the game is a "draw", then the player who takes the next prize wins the match.

*If two games are completed and the same player has won both games he/she wins the match.

*If two games are completed and each player has one win and the the third game has not started, the third game will be played as "Sudden Death" with one prize. Winner of that game is the winner of the match.

*If two games have been completed and each player has one win, the player with the most prizes taken in the third game wins the match. If the third game is a draw when time is called, the next player to take a prize wins the match.

There are some GREAT PRIZES to be awarded to the winners of each age group. This will take longer to determine a winner of each age group. But, this is the fair way to determine our winners from Oklahoma to go to the "Pokemon World Championships". :D

As soon as the Top-??? begin their playoffs, we will start the "Unlimited" and "GBA" tournaments. So if you are in the Top-??? of your age group, you probably will not get to play in the "Side Events".

Good luck to all of the players coming to the "Oklahoma Gym Challenge"!!!! Any comments or questions are welcome.

Of course there will be a tourney at 4th Street on the Friday before. Just as usual. So come on & get those last minute tweaks done to help out the next day. As standard the tourney will start around 6 & be over somewhere between 8:30-9:30.

MPBirch - you must've cut & pasted this from the Houston event. -

Thanks for catching the errors. Yes, I have learned what "cut & paste" is all about. I scan over the posts, but when I look sometimes I just don't see. I thinks; I am getting too old for this. Thanks again, for the "proof reading" and I hope that you will continue to do so.

Oh yes, thank YOU for allowing me to go play golf today. You are the man in Okalhoma and you take goooood care of her Pokemon players.

~Patriarch~

This is great news!!! Is there a chance that some of the local faithful might be coming with you? If we can get enough players to attend like in the DFW area, I will make it a full-blown Pokemon Party to end the school year!!! OK, start recruiting your friends and let's "carvan" up to the "Heritage Park Mall" for the "End of School Pokemon Party"!!!

By the way, Master Professor Birch will be giving away three invitations and trips to Orlando, Florida for the "Pokemon World Championships" on August 20-22. Think, if you win one of these, that means you will miss school next year on the 20th and 23th of August. But, that is alright, because you will be with Master Professor Birch and he will be schooling you in "Pokemon-e TCG~301".

Since Texas Game Company is no more, all the players from there have either abandoned the game, scattered, or just don't konw of a place to play (Even though I advertised CGB :/). However, I'll see if my dad would mind letting a few people carpool with us. lol.

Yup, no underestimating the Magnolia State over here. You guys have some great players.....

You know that speech Rick gave about always being a bridesmaid... never a bride? Ouch!

We thought you were going to clean sweep... just trample everyone into a totally undefeated victory! That's what it looked like until the very end.... We feel for you, man.... but of course, we're glad one of our own won! ;) Take comfort in knowing that you were our favorite to win -- after ALL the Texans, of course! :p

I want to add, though, that you guys over there in LA are very gracious hosts, and I'm sure that OK and TX will always be just as gracious to you on their home turf.

I didn't mean the comment in a negative way.....2 second place finishes in 3 GC's means he's a very good player, just a tad unlucky. Really, I could'nt comment on it as he was playing, but he got quite possibly the worst draws ( 3 RC in your hand w/ no evol.) and it was worse at times. When you see that as a judge, you can't say anything but you sure feel for him. Hey Chris, maybe we'll start our own team..... Team Voodoo! You just need a little mojo working for you! I am thinking of playing in Dallas.....so maybe I'll bring some mojo for both of us!

Ok people, give BANGINBOX some love . He has bent over backwards to help other players with rides, etc since he has moved to Texas. So, show him the same courtesy that he has shown you. I could give a ride, but I have seven riding in my van now. Let's help him out.

Master Professor Birch

I appreciate it Birch, but it doesnt look as if I could go anyhow. My Boss has nominated me to work in someones absense. I would still like to send James if anyone could help. He cried pretty hard when I told him today.

SO, Birch, Nancy, Team Cook, Clay, Anyone , please get back to me if you would consider taking him. I could Drop him off and pick him up anywhere and anytime, In the metroplex area. (I'll take a long lunch!)

thanx,
jimmy

Hey guys & Jimmy,

I've emailed Jimmy. We plan on taking James with us. We just have to make the arrangements of picking him up. Just please watch the board if something doesn't work out.

So team TX will not be without.

That's great, mewsmom!

We emailed Jimmy back last night, too, telling him that we'd love to take James with us (It would be great for Austin to have someone to play with on the way over to OK)... but we're not sure if we're going.

Austin does not really want to play against his buddies since he's already earned his trip, and the rest of us (Team Cook) don't stand a chance against you guys!!!

But, if we DO go, we'll check this board to make sure that James has his ride taken care of....
If we don't go, we'll see you guys at the Pre-releases, Nationals, Stadium Challenge and Worlds!

Goodluck to you guys! We're rootin' for ya, Team Texas!!!!

Master Professor Birch is turning out the lights and going to bed. I will be leaving tomorrow morning at 4:00am to head up to the "Oklahoma Gym Challenge". If you have a question, after 4:00am I will not be here to answer for you.

Good Luck to all of the Pokemon players at the "OK GC". Those of you that will be driving up in the morning please be careful. I will be on the road too.
