Essential to dark decks. No longer provides effect for pokemon with dark in their name, just darkness type. +10 Damage is beastly when combined with powerful attacks and plus power/Strength Charm. Not many good Darkness Pokes in Modified (until the next set) so this card isn't great right now.

6/10 Modified, but as better darkness pokes are made, the rating goes up!

Dark Energy is a must for any deck that plays Pokemon requiring Darkness Energy. A +10 damage to their attacks really helps in getting that KO that might normally be out of the way. Of course, remember that this Darkness Energy is a Special Energy card, so you're only allowed to run 4 of these.

Modified - 8/10 (There aren't too many Dark Pokemon decks running about, but this card still must be played in 4s for them)
Limited - 7/10 (Go ahead and use it if you have Dark Pokemon needing the energy, otherwise it's a dead draw)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No clue how many decks use Dark Pokemon here, but I wouldn't imagine there being a whole lot)

Darkness Energy is very good for :dark: decks, giving them a slight advantage over most other types. It is stackable, allowing some Pokemon to add enormous amounts of damage. With Weavile SW coming out, it will become even more playable.
Modified 7/10 very good for :dark: Pokemon
Limited 4/10 if you get some :dark: Pokemon
Unlimited 7/10 very broken with Sneasel

Dark energy has always been a popular energy to have in a deck since day 1 that GSC came out. The fact that you can add 10 extra damage is utterly broken, its as if your using infinite strength charms or plus powers. However it can only work on dark pokemon and you only deal the extra damage to the active. The downside of it is you can only have 4 special dark energies in the deck, otherwise the deck would have been broken.

Modified- Right now there are not very many good dark type pokemon out there but honchkrow, but electivire will electricute honchkrow. When the new weavile SW card comes out, the dark energy card will be much more useable. 8/10

Limited- Helps alot in dark type decks but useless with other types of pokemon. Hard to pull in packs. 6/10

Unlimited- Dragtrode,Neo G sneasel, Neo G Murkrow, Team Magma, Team Aqua, Tyranitar ex UF, Rock Lock, Dark Steelix. Can all abuse these dark energies and dark energy is always and will always be my favorite type of energy card. 10/10

As has been said before, a must in :dark: decks, practically useless in non-:dark: decks. The introduction of Basic :dark: Energy has diminished its importance slightly.
