I love the Lucario. Those are awesome. Maybe they will be a future expansion set. Thanks for posting!

i'd guess these were some kind of set for the rukario movie?

at comic-con, jimmer said that the three d/p starter figures had been some kind of promo in japan; that's why the scale was a bit different as compared to the other figures in the set. hopefully we'll get these in the future...thanks ian!

Nah, those are bottle cap promos. If/when those characters are made they'll have completely different sculpts.

BTW, the figs in the second TFG set will BLOW YOUR MIND...

Yeah, these don't look like TFG figs to me.
Which is good because Weavile and Pikachu look TERRIBLE.
Swellow, though, looks AMAZING... that'd be an awesome pose for a TFG figure.

I love Lucario and Weavile in those pics. Great stuff! Swellow is pretty kool too.

They look pretty cool; I may not play the TFG right now but the figures themselves are really nice. I doubt I can afford MTG , Pokemon TCG and Pokemon TFG

I hope they make a Pokemon that can transform!
That would make a sweet attack...
You may spin the other attacking Pokemon to use one of there attacks!

A Clefairy or Togepi with Metronome would be interesting.

I've actually been playing around with ideas like transform and metronome with the fake figures (text spoilers only, not physical figures) I've been creating when I'm bored.
This is what I thought up for those particular attacks:

(P) Metronome **
Your opponent chooses one of your Pokemon on the field or the bench. Spin that figure until you get a purple or white result. Metronome copies that attack.

(P) Transform ***
During your next turn, treat Ditto as a copy of the Defending Pokemon (Including Type, MP, and attacks.)

(P) Mimic **
Spin the Defending Pokemon until you get a purple or white result. Mimic copies that attack.

Those are only the tip of the iceberg in terms of original attacks I've come up with, but they're the only ones relevant to the current discussion.

On thing still vexes me with this. The Figure bases on the bottle caps look just like the bottoms of normal figures, minus the base and pole. Like they could easily be adapted to the TFG... Why won't PUSA use them?

Course, I'd settle for some Fourth Generation Pokemon in the Third TFG set. And that Swellow.

Makes me wonder... If PUSA did a promotion with the TFG, could they affix Sculpts to the tops of Colas, and have them lock onto a base on the bottom?

I have the set of those types that were made for the Deoxys movie. They are really cool looking in person.

I will try and get some Pics posted.

Promotional items for the US market need to be theft-proof. Special bottle caps won't fly because kids will swipe the caps from the bottles in the stores. But what you are proposing is a good idea but impossible to pull off in the US.

Suppose you could put a plastic covering over the top and bottom, something like the tabs on milk or something else? Or do you mean it needs to be behind space devil plastic?

The way I got my set, they were all in separate bags, 1 for each figure.

They don't appear to have been kept out on the sales floor, but rather with the sales people.

Er, perhaps, but you've seen the activity of this board, and I did have a question quite relevant to the topic. No sense in creating a new one, when I can simply use the existing one, and people will know whatever it is I'm talking about, savvy?

Space devil plastic is good, one can't pry it open unless struggling for 5 minutes with a finger-amputating device (scissors, box-cutter, razor). That will keep the 5-finger discount to a minimum but increase the cost by quite a bit.:frown:

I'm kind of annoyed that Burgerking didn't do any Pokemon Figures. That'd have been the perfect opprotunity to release some Promos to tide us over.

True, but even the creators of the TFG seem to want it to die. >_<

There is rumor that the Groundbreaker expansion will be released in August/September. I think September seems more likely since we in the US will be getting Legends Awakened in August.

well I am having a little trouble in believing that because compared to the card game and the video game the PR machine isn't doing much of anything in the past or the future for this pokemon genre . i had high hopes for the figures but like other hopes quickly dashed on the rocks of reality .

Here is an article I found on Go-pokemon .com. http://www.go-pokemon.com/tfg/news/articles/11.html . It shows some figures in a glass case that are supposed to be from a 3rd set. It also states that Groundbreakers will be released in Fall 08.

Smoochum? Are you sure? Only Latios, Latias, Hariyama, Raticate, Geodude, and Mightyena and Green and Landon should be released.
