With the ho-en regoin reaching the middle of the road and back to battle city coming saturday it makes this one point:
Will yu-gi-oh and pokemon keep going after the ho-en region and battle city finally end????
It can also mean another thing:
Will pokemon continue being so strong??
With Yu-Gi-Oh this is one of only 2 predictions
Marek wins and takes over the world leaving yugi with the option to stop him
Or this can heppen:
Yugi wins saving yami and leaving a new chapter in his life to unfold with all 3 egiptian god cards and the millenium rod
I would like to see what people will think about the shows futures??
Will the TCG's/CCG's keep the show going??

According to Pokemon.com, the Pokemon Anime was the #1 show viewed on Kids' WB by children from something to something. It is viewed way more than YGO. Also, Pokemon in Japan is entering its 7th season, and it has been predicted that the Anime is not even half way through. Pokemon is definately going to last for many more years.
As for YGO, it is pretty much a dying fad. Its ratings haven't been to good lately, and apparently, when the next season starts, 4Kids is going to probably completely rewrite it since it has some violent elements.

As long as the GB games keep coming out, so will the TCG and Anime.

Well that is somewhat expected. Especially Yugi-oh and its genre is on the cards unlike Pokemon which has its own identity. Frankly speaking, Pokemon was aired here only up to Season 2 and what keeps the TCG going, its the players in any place and the Gameboy Version. Like once said in some thread, Pokemon has great staying power even without the cartoon series here and it is more simpler to play for some kids. ;)
Yugi-Oh TCG IMO will now be tested in its staying power without the cartoon series anywhere an we will see how far it can go.

As much as I hate to admit it...
I watch both Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon...
And from what I can see neither will die for a very long time...
I know that Pokemon has almost hundreds of more episodes still untranslated...
And I can also assume that Yu-Gi-Oh! is in the same boat...
But really I am actually glad that neither will die. I enjoy watching both and as long is it doesn't start sucking I will keep watching.

YGO in Japan is way past Dartz and the DOOM organization and what-have-you. Apparantly we're on the Kaibacorp Grand Prix.

Yeah they are pretty far ahead of us...
They're at a part where they go in depth about the Pharaohs memories...
I really hope that when Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! end in Japan, we finish off the animes untill there is no more episodes left...
I am sick and tired of watching an anime, getting in to it, and then they cancel it and don't air all the Japanese episodes...

i'd like to see WB just get rid of yugioh....... what's the point???
give it to CN for Adult swim (i can think of some shows that have run their path coughcoughBIG-Ocoughcough and let them display the show in a little better way than what WB will allow.....
it will get more violent and will have more of an older crowd that they want to attract....... either way i could care less, both shows are really getting annoying
I wonder why there are no shows featuring pokemon TCG????
That would be interesting to see. As long as they dont take it to Yu-Gi-Oh measures...
But the obvious fact is that with every Gameboy Game that comes out, Ash and the rest of the group go to that area. Since Fire Red and Leaf Green are about the Kanto region again, would that mean that Ash is going to attend the Kanto Pokemon Championships again with all of the Pokemon he has collected?
My 2 cents for the time being...

Ack, no! I'm Canadian and I can't get CN, just flippin' YTV, which I thought was doing well animé-wise with Inuyasha... until they pulled their "restart the series" thing with it. So, yeah, YTV sucks the big one, and Teletoon is more kiddie-oriented than stupid Treehouse. WB might not be that great, but they've got a better list of animé right now than YTV does (YTV currently has only Inuyasha and Duel Masters).

I think this topic would serve its purpose better over in the "Anime Realm" forum rather than RTC.

2 shows revolving around TCGs are enough. Maybe too much....
Announcer: Welcome back to the the Final match between Ash and Gary. Ash has found himself already down by 2 prizes and looks like he does not have much of a hand.
Ash (thinking): I know i can pull this out if i just get the right cards.
Announcer: Ash draws his card....AND IT'S A PROFESSOR OAK!!! Ash has drawn a Professor Oak card!!!!
Announcer 2: With it he can Discard his current hand and draw 7 new cards from the top of his deck.
Ash: YES!!! I've drawn a Professor Oak card!!!
Crowd: Wild applause and cheers.
I like the show the way it is.....

I would say, these are far from over.
pokemon is only getting stronger, were barely into the hoenn region (in us airings), and YGO still has a few more seasons waiting to be translated, not to mantion the current new season in japan.
i would not say YGO is so much of a dying fad.. well actually, it is... but where the interest is going i do not know. but this is a little simillar to another thing we are familiar with: Pokemon. sure, YGO may have not quite gotten up to the pokemon level of fadabiilty, it has been going quite strong. pokemon was in the same position as YGO, it was cool to like pokemon and play the games, then it started to lose popularity. but did that kill it? did you walk away and leave all your pokemon cards and games in the dusty shoebox burried in your closet to remain there forever?
pokemon is still going strong, its the hardcore fans who made this possible. and the same will go down for YGO. while it wont get as much attention from various products and get its name slepped on every type of merchandise possible, people will still buy it, people will still watch it, and people will still play it. the people that do this, will be the fans. and i would personally have it no other way.
On that note, hasn't the Yu-Gi-Oh manga ended in Japan?
yes, after 7 years, the Ygo manga has reached an ende ( pretty convenient eh? 7 sennen items, 7 years...)
but that doesnt mean its all over! a new Ygo series has just begun in V-jump, a monthly published magazine. this new series is titled "Yu-Gi-Oh! R" not much is known about the series, since only the first episode(s?) has been released, so we will learn more about it later.
but we are far from the end of YGO manga here in the us, we havnt even started duelist kingdom yet!

Yeah, i was actually hoping that YGO would die out. Because that way i could maybe unload all of my cards before they become worthless...er. Then, someone else would get stuck with them. But i need a way to find someone who would buy my entire collection (i decided not to keep a couple of decks around to play with now and then). On a different note, what has happened so far in this YGOR of yours?

In Yu Gi Oh R series they finally finished the Battle City Tournament and onto Dartz...
They drew the last episode in the Japanese manga recently...
It actually had a really awesome ending.
I could tell you the ending but I won't!

Pokemon Might be Ending But it is way to strong of a show. They will make another series. Yugioh still has one or 2 moer seasons left.I downloaded all of the next 2 seasons is japenese they are pretty cool.I don't think that Pokemon Will leave kids WB with Yugioh still on the air.So I wouldn't worry.

I wonder if they should be more concerned with portraying the protagonist as a schizophrenic? :)
I know they don’t really show Yugi as being schizophrenic, they actually show him to be possessed by the spirit that lives in his puzzle. But is that really better?
As someone pointed out on another thread, movies and TV shows and video games help bring players to the card games, but also help the card game players identify more closely with the product. This approach will go a long way in establishing Pokemon and/or Yu Gi Oh! as a more permanent fixture in our society. I don’t see either show leaving any time soon.
I like the way that the Pokemon TV show had Ash starting over. Sort of fits in with Nintendo taking the game back from WOTC.

Kids' WB already bought Season 7 of Pokemon and it is their most popular show, so it won't be off of it anytime soon.

The next chapter in YGO is when he finally loses (when he lost to kaiba it was yugi who lost, not his egyptian ancestor) and loses little yugis soul (HAHA!) violent indeed, I don't believe 4Kids has the balls to show this season, as they didnt show the very first one eithere.

I'd just like to tell everyone that Kids' WB just released a press release stating that they have bought the next three seasons of Pokemon. Incase you don't know how big that is, it is an equivelant to all of the Johto episodes, from the first one with Ash seeing Suicune to the last one where Ash is on the boat to Hoenn. That's a lot of episodes! This just shows Pokemon is not going to end anytime soon, and will at the least last for another three years in America.

Oh I know how Yami Yugi loses to Raphael. Slipped a card into his deck that made him go all crazy (like Pandora) or something. Well, he loses and is owned. While I might not put it in such vulgar terms as Hedgefoxidna did, I do think that 4Kids would be making a large mistake in making the next YGO season, well, for kids.
