Hello,

I wanted to ask when someone uses something like calm mind or any other status changing attack, then uses baton pass does the status change go away for does it stay with the new active pokemon???

Nope. That's the beauty of Baton Pass.

To clarify, (Answering "False" to a multiple choice question doesn't exactly do much, does it.) all stat changes are passed to the new Pokemon when one uses Baton Pass. That's why, back in the day of G/S/C, people like a BPing Jolteon with Agility, and other such moves.

Catch is, that includes both positive and negative stat changes. That little technicality is unlikely to come into play, but keep it in mind.

So you'll find that things like Leech Seed (that painfully annoying grass move that people use on me) and the like will be affecting the new pokemon still...

Hmmm...I don't think so. That's not a stat change. By negative change, I think he means loss of acurracy or something.

I wouldnt doubt it, it can pass on Mean Look, both if you did it to your opponent, or if your Opponent did it to you.

Can you Pass Perish Song?

yes, perish song gets passed as well. but this used to be such a strong tactic... passing the agility, to ensure to be first, then a few swords dances or growths to OHKO any pokemon... one idea would be to a charizard, who has flamethrower, earthquake, slash, swordsdance. if he's agility'ed and growth'ed, he'd be deadly.

So lets say.....

I have a pokemon that know baton pass and skill moves like agility, calm mind, swords dance(or any attack increasing move)/or double team....

then switch it with latios/as or any of the good pokes out there currently. Does does my new poke keep the skill increases or no??

yes, and decreases. If you Calm Mind, Agility or whatever, it will all be passed to the new pokemon you send out.

The same goes for if your opponent uses moves to slow down, weaken attack or defense, ect. If you pass with negitives, they will also be on new pokemon.

I still don't understand what you guys mean by negatives???

Negatives -- lowered stats, Perish Song, Attract (I think), etc.

in other words, the new pokemon gets both skill increases (calm mind, swords dance, etc.) and skill decreases (screech, scary face). also, effects are carried on, such as perish song, and confusion, i believe.

So, just to check: Does BP pass the effects of Double team or not?

So, just to check: Does BP pass the effects of Double team or not?

It passes everything but stat problems.
