I met up with Vince (meg45) at 4:30 on Friday Zak Vince and I hop in his car and pick up Colin Around 5:00. We decide to eat b4 we get on the road and we stop at PK changs. I've never been Here b4 and this place was great though Colin only ate lettuce wraps (eeeech) I didn’t pay him any Mind since last time we ate together he had baby carrots. We drive listen to tunes play galaga and Count the local ummm... adult photography shops on the way down. We finally arrive at 9:45-10:00 ish and me Vince and Zak go for a swim. When we get back to our room we build and play test decks Then hit the sack. I finally fall asleep at 2:00 something only to be awoken at 4:22 by a delirious Vince stumbling to the bathroom. 30 minutes later Colin can be heard in the bathroom obviously Not having a fun time. We get up and go down at 10:00 only to find that NO ONE IS HERE noooooo. We keep checking and finally people arrive. Everyone gets prepped and I make a last minute Adjustment to my deck and the tourney begins.
Round one: my first round I play this grass deck, easy meat for my Bex. He gets 2 ekans and I get
Ray and torchic. Needless to say it takes little over 3 turns.
Round 2: I played a magma fighting deck I get 2nd turn catty and 2 blaze third turn. This game was
Fun and my opponent was really nice.
Round 3: This round was against a sceptile deck so yet again it wasn’t much of a challenge though
Seviper was making me ...unhappy. (Bonus I beat a I VIP :) free pack for me)
Round 4: Of course round 4 is against Colin (Swanton1717 running SwampertEX) and we decide to
Draw (he’s had a rough day and I know I stand NO chance)
Round 5: yet again pits me against a friend (Zak Vince's son) after careful odds weighing Vince
Comes up with a way for all of us (me him Colin and Zak) to get in to top 4 so we follow his directions
And draw.
TOP 8
Round 1: I again play a Sceptile deck proving not much of a match against the grass blasting Bex
This is where my fate is decided (you see Vince agreed to concede to whomever he played if his son
Won a trip) Colin and Vince play a long break filled, pile shuffling a gazillion times game until Zak
Wins in which Vince immediately concedes.
Round 2: this is the round I was dreading the most me verse Colin (SwampertEX) needless to say
Colin (the already far superior play) wipes the floor with me though I can’t be to disappointed
Because he gave me the box to sell :) YAY!
Overall I had a fun time and ill just have to win at Nationals.
