View Full Version : Chimecho...the REAL copycat
So i opened my booster packs after getting them at the prerelease and I saw a very interesting card. Its Chimecho. the reason why im mentioning this card today is because of a very interesting attack it has.
(C) Chime
Search you opponent's discard pile for a Supporter card and use the effect of that card as the effect of this attack (The Supporter card remains in your opponent's discard pile.)
Think about like this. It would be like having your own stash of reusable supporter cards. Say your opponent has a town volunteer in the discard pile, use Chime and you instantly have 5 card back into your deck. And lets think of other possibilities...
-Oak's Reesearch- instantly have a new hand
-TV Reporter- 3 cards instantly (combine THIS with Oracle)
-Steven's Advice- more cards in your hand
-Desert Shaman- instant reshuffle and drawing of 4 cards. Great disruptor for oracle/Delcatty decks (aka, all of them)
And folks, thats just 5 of the who-knows how many Supporters out there I already have 2 in my new deck and Im planning to keep them in there.
Thoughts? ideas?

This still loses to Gardy... go play Sableye while your at it, you've got your opponent's draw power covered. ;)

Lets not forget that if you Chime Steven's Advice and have 7+ cards in your hand you can still use it from the discard ^_~ Since the card says "...can't play..." not "...can't use..." ^_~

Does Chimecho's attack allow you do use more than one Supporter card in a turn. Use one, then use Chimecho's attack to use another one. Was just wondering because it says it just uses the effect of the card, but doesn't put the card out itself. But I'm sure that it won't be able to let you use 2 of them in a turn. :)
One huge prob with this card. Its an attack. I dont know about u but i cant afford to lose a single attack thruohg out the game.

My opinion.. just play the card you're trying to use chimecho for... the supporter really doesn't do THAT much good at the end of the turn like that because they can shaman it away or what ever... I'd rather play the card itself than have to have my opponent play it then use it and not be able to use anything I get from the card effect until my opponent has had a chance to react to it lol.

Yes, you can play a Supporter and then use Chime. You can only play 1 Supporter per turn, but like I said, using Chime only uses the Supporter, it doesn't play it.

I suppose you also won't use Dunparce? Jirachi? Chimecho, like these Pokemon, is meant for the early game...to get going fast. Its pretty safe to use during the first 3 turns. It gives you practically double the draw power since the first few turns will have draw trainers played one right after another. Lets not forget other uses such as Pokemon Nurse and Briney...granted, I don't see that happening often...but they're still possibilities. And in 2 on 2 you could Wally your other active Pokemon. ^_~ Just some interesting uses I thought I'd point out.

Yay! My ruling is hork worthy!

Well, lets not forget this is early game we're talking about...so they probably won't want to screw up their hand that much within the first few turns...not to mention once its played you can screw up their hand at any given moment. Shiftry/Chimecho! Return their energy to their hand and Shaman it all away!
