Hi there,
I've seen alot of ranking on Pokemon Card with the "Card of the Day" and noticed everything or almost in our recent card got a 1/10 on unlimited.
What's so good in unlimited ?
Thanks

Forretress LA. Too bad it wasn't in CoTD, would've gotten 10/10 in unlimited as propably the first card after Aggron EX CG.

Rare Candy? Can my oponent use Rare Candy while Aerodactyl power is in play?

Yes. And you can get Mewtwo out earliest at T2 (T3 if you start and don't happen to get it in play T1), and most games are over by then.

Vileplume EX much?
But really, unless you're talking Basic/Stage 1 Pokemon (some of which are superior to their siblings in Unlimited due to the Weakness/Resistance changes), and the occasional Trainer, many Pokemon do not thrive well against their Unlimited counterparts.

Well for trainers.... Pokedrawer maybe..... Luxury Ball definitely......TS-2 maybe.....
TSD definitely....
For pokemon..... Blissey (Mysterious Treasures)... yeah.... Kingdra (LA).... yeah..... Machamp (Stormfront).....
yeah... nice.....Gengar (Stormfront).... did you say trainers? Poltergeist sounds nice.... just watch out for Sneasel... Energy Pickup?.... it might be flippy but could be useful with or against Energy/ Super Energy Removal. Absol (Secret Wonders)--- I don't think it's good enough but could be fun with Chaos Gym....
Infernape... I don't think it's good enough but it's not bad....because it depends on the lvl. X too much.
Raichu lv. X.... if there is something in the future sets that gets him out T1 he could be golden. You could KO 4 pokemon in 2 turns.... potentially (2 Raichu, 2 Raichu lvl.X)--- but probably not worth the trouble. Kabutops (Majestic Dawn) could be considered over Vileplume ex since it's not an ex, but it's still considerably weaker.

Vileplume ex, Kettler's Zapdos deck, Blastoise, or anything with Neo Slowking in it.
The person who goes second in unlimited wins 99% of the time.

WEll,.. Why ? I mean, if both have Blastoise, both can setup really fast? What will do the person to win?

No no no, he means Suicune Ex. Look it up.

The person going second can use trainers. So odds are by the time their turn is done they will have gone through 30-40 cards in their deck.

How? Blastiose ex? Also, zapdos=t1 win 95% of the time. I also like delcatty ex, as it leads to absurd t1-on damage for one energy, with the only thing needed is trainers.

in unlimited? My favorite deck is base blastoise with Team aqua walrein and archie (0-0-4 with archie being the only way of getting it out). can anyone say T1/2 (depending on order) 140 damage? :D

Use Blastoise (Base set) Foretress (LA) and Espeon Aquapolis. Use about 2-3 energy and you can win turn two every game.

Base set Blastoise wouldn't work, you can only attach energy to water pokemon. You would have to use Blastoise Ex.

Mewtwo Lv. X - Aerodactyl (Base) and Kabutops MD
- Sweeet.

You don't even need Mewtwo. That would slow it down.

Mewtwo Lv. X - Aerodactyl (Base) and Kabutops MD
- Sweeet.
Failure. You can either have the Lv X active and not feel their attacks, or you can lock their trainers.

Aerodactyl seems the best card around here... with Blastoise Ex (or not). Is there anyway really unlimited tournament ?

Fossil Aerodactyl has 60HP and unlimited has Gust of Wind. There was a reason it wasn't played much back then. And the game would typically be so fast that you would have to go second and Rare Candy the fossil to prevent the opponent from evolving already.
You would probable need Mewtwo LvX + Aerodactyl + Dark Vileplume + Ts-2 (to get rid of anything the opponent has evolved by the time you are setup). but I don't see that being stable.

I think that Zapdos MD, Spiritomb LA, Scoop up, Briney, SSU etc. is a pretty good deck.
It can make you win even if opponent has multiple basics.

Your right, still even with Blastoise EX it's almost guarenteed to win turn one.

I'd use Aggron ex instead of the Mewtwo lv. X, since it takes 1 more turn to level it up.

Stall doesn't work vs a deck like Suicune Blastoise, because they will one shot you no matter what you do.

I first heard about this deck a few weeks ago and its really fun and can win on the first turn if you go 2nd. Dont forget about Jolteon * as well to go with Zapdos and Spiritomb, its a nice addition. Between Scoop Up, SSU, Brineys Compassion, and Mr. Fuji you can really stack alot of damage up really quick.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but why is Unlimited such a dead and neglected format? It would seem that if PUI had actual premier events for Unlimited alongside the normal run of Modified events, most of the old sets would still be generating at least some sort of revenue since people would be buying stuff from them to compete with.
It never made much sense to me how PUI would rather completely bury sets with every format change, never allowing them to be played again, causing their value to greatly depreciate, etc.. Of course it is necessary to have a rotation every year to keep Modified fresh, but if Unlimited was around as a premier format, the cards that got spun out would not be dead and useless like they are now and their monetary value would not plummet.
Has anyone ever seriously tried to convince PUI to bring Unlimited back as a premiere format?

It's a possibility though, I know the format at my local Pokemon League is Unlimited even though alot of decks run the newer cards with the old stuff in them some of which are trainers like Computer Search, Gust of Wind, Item Finder, Pokemon Breeder, Professor Oak (Base Set), the works.
Some people tend to disagree on this but you can still have an Unlimited deck with 50 % of the new stuff and 50 % of the old stuff from Base Set onwards. I've seen an Unlimited deck with new cards that can win on Turn 1 with just 3 Pokemon and it's pretty insane.
Luxury Ball is really good in Unlimited as is Poke Drawer +, I don't care what anybody else says they're just as worthy in the format as in Modified. There's some good synergies with them via Item Finders and other old school cards.
As to comparisons between Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering, Unlimited is alot like Vintage, Extended, and Legacy. Modified is more like Standard Type II for Pokemon cause you're restricted to specific sets more.
