NICE!!!

Decided to jump on the PokeGym Forums to see if there is any up to the minute news on the WCSC and what do I come across......a live update by Professor Dav.

Sadly my brother and I could not make it up there with the rest of the guys, but I am glad to see that after 3 rounds some of the TEAM LA players are in the top 16 in the 15+ division. Way to go guys!

I look forward to seeing more updates from you throughout the day Professor Dav. And again really nice job in keeping us informed of whats going on in the WCSC.

HOLY CRAP!!! O_O

Chad, Matt, and Kevin: big names of the region...all squared off in the same 4-person block?!

This will be good, folks! Even better than the John Kettler/Daniel Reyes or Dana Lynch/Colin Moll battles that went on at SSC! =O

Hello all....

Well, it's late and I have to say it was a wonderful experience to Judge the 15 older group...

There was cooperations, sportsmanship, all around good play...Players helping out all over...

Chrisbo ran a tight ship and Well BDS ran a great tourny as head judge....

I for one really enjoyed the event....Well run

My son went 3-2 in 11-14 and my daughter went 2-2 in the 10 under....more important she made a great friend and even went shopping, swimming and out to dinner with her new friend and familiy while I had to finish up the 15 older finals......

We had at least 6 persons from Wash State attend today......

Stuart B. from the Renton League won his age group...

Way to go STUART!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...of course I yelled a big way to go..............

I have to get to bed and get some sleep for the long drive back tomorrow.....

Sorry about the poor audio quality, folks. There is a very thin line on the distince between the Cell phone earbud and the computer microphone between clipping and distortion and inaudibility, and I wasn't able to hit it. I should be able to adjust some levels and next time should sound much better. I didn't realize there was that much distortion until this morning when I played it back.

Quick congratulations to all the winners, especially those whose fine efforts have come short of the big prize this tourney season, but who finally attained that trip or invite.

To all the competitors -- you were exceedingly cool with your opponents and worked well with the judges. For all the staff, I have to say this was one of the highlight team experiences in my life. The TO & HJ had worked out the organization of the event very well in advance and this made the hectic day go VERY well. Public thanks to my 11-14 assistant judg,e LC -- thanks man, not only were you strong technically, but you handled the communication and responsibility aspects of judging with poise & endurance.

Speaking of endurance -- all the staff came from far away... and are likely to still be getting home. The distance of the staff for this event is perhaps a reflection of the scarcity of these events in the Bay area (local TOs/Judges wanted to play). So, you may find that communications from staff may not pick up 'til tomorrow night. I need to duck my head down and finish something for school, too. So, we're not ignoring you, just travelling or syncing up with real life.

You can see a quick 1Mb video pan of the room here:
http://mal-centurion.pepperdine.edu/wcsc-start.mov

I have some more video I may put up late this week.

Thanks and congrats to all involved!

It appears that two 10-under players ID'd to make it to the Top 4, then lost in the semi-finals. It's kind of fitting, if you ask me. Anyway, congrats to Rachel in that age group.

I expected GLBlaine and BDS would run a great event.

Now that I have gotten caught up at work and have uploaded all of the tournaments from this weekend’s event, I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to everyone that help and came to the stadium.

Thanks go to the Judging staff that helped out with running such a great event, and did such a wonderful job keeping things moving along.

Thanks go to all the players that came out. It was great to meet a lot of you guys and everyone was having a lot of fun.

Thanks go to PUI for letting us run the event, and most of all Dave for updating the boards through out the day with what was happening. :thumb:

I had planed to ask Prof. Dav if he wanted to be interviewed durring the top 16 but didn't seem to find the energy (no pun intended).

But I sure hope you all enjoyed what reports I did call in for! :D

Hope to do it again next year!
