2 More Days!! (Which means only 2 more days of school before I transform into PokeMode!) I can't
wait, this is gonna be a huge party!!! We are bringing like 10 or 11 people from Southern Oregon to
join the party, and see Chris lose all his hair!

ya know, some people reading this forum might think we are out to 'get Mr. Raichu and PokeMATHer' since we're anticipating this big shaving fest. But in reality we're supporting the challenge they have thrown out to the Pokemon community and we Pacific Northwest players are working to support the goal our fine PTOs have set. We don't want to disappoint them. Our PTOs know us soooo well, that they are fully prepared for the shaving.

Looking forward to Saturday! Don't forget about the team play too!

p.s. (better add aloe vera to that list June. Chris and David's sensitive skin might need some pampering).

I am bringing one additional person to regionals more then I brought to states, so if just 70 more people do that our goal is set.

^A giant gathering of people who enjoy playing Pokemon, where merchandise and cards are for sale, most everyone is in a good mood, people practice, trade, battle on DS and hang out while waiting for their official games. Prizes, side events, trading, advice for your decks, huge group of friends...great time. Regionals is the best one too. Not as vacant as battle Roads, but still a general family of players.

Nanette, I've got the aloe vera gel packed just in case. Hope everyone can rise to the occasion so
I can use it on their silly bald heads  You know you guys & gals they must love you Poke people whole bunches to make this challenge to you. They should know by now that you all are
very serious about this whole head shaving thing.

League play, FUN, prizes, side events, oh yeah that Main Event thingy, FUN, friends, family, FUN,
contests, giveaways, DS tourney, BALD heads and more FUN, FUN, FUN.

It's 12:38 AM and I just got back to my hotel room (Black Bear holler) after eating some ridiculous Denny's food.

Today was a fantastic day. We came close to 400, and some PTOs lost some hair. It was wondrous.

Before I left I tried to thank every judge/professor/PTO, etc., if I didn't get to you (I was in the Flash hoodie), I apologize. Thanks for all the effort you've gone through and everything you've done.

This is my first Regionals, and the best time I've ever had at a Pokemon-related event. All of the players, staff, and volunteers deserve a pat on the back.

Word to pulling 2 Dialga G Xs in the draft, Magmurder for making top 16, and everyone else for making this event possible.

Thank you, Salem.

So what a great day- less to do with winning and more to do with what a great group of people to spend so many Saturdays with. Being 48, if I tried to recall the games I played it would not be accurate. Here are some of the highlights:
1. The Cason Award- It still breaks my heart to know that Cason is gone. Mike getting the award is a great way to honor his memory. Seeing his dad and being able to say how much we loved Cason was heartbreaking and wonderful.
2. Shawn Returns!!!!- Shawn G. who raised this PokeMom (with Chris, June and BDS) into a Poke Player returned to play after some very hard times. Shawn’s humor, his family and his presence was fantastic! When top cuts were announced and Shawn and I made it- what a great moment and a great hug!
3. Mr. Raichu and David’s head shaving! - Makes em look younger and brought a whole lot of joy to those of us that wanted to make the 400! Next time 400! This time a lot of laughs.
4. My adolescent friends (including my great son Riley). It is great to have a game that lets you sit and talk for hours with a bunch of guys and women that are so fun!
5. My son Riley- lost the first three games and still managed to have a great day of playing football, skateboarding and telling funny (and occasionally goofy) stories. Happy Birthday today on your 12th birthday! Count my blessings every day!
6. All the Pokemoms and Pokedads that celebrate and suffer together in the ups and downs of a long tournament day!
7. Oh and I made T8 with my Machamp!
Props:
1. The whole judging and staff that made it a great day!
2. Thanks to Paul for being a great guy to lose to and Steven for being so gracious when I managed to squeeze out a victory in a very tight match! Thanks also to Clint who I donked (Machamp vs Kingdra) and played a second game with me and taught me a whole lot about the game.
3. The great game 7 with a player that I can’t remember but what an awesome game- Lost and still made the cut!
4. Watching all these kids grow and turn into great adults.
5. The Clantons- every single one of them for being the best!

Janet ( also known as Riley's mom)

Jason probably stepped over the line making those comments the way he did, but that doesnt make them incorrect. DJ was a good guy, but there was no denying that he made quite a few bad plays and mistakes, and played very slowly, making him a frustrating opponent. I encountered the same exact problems in my match with him as well, even though I still won.

OK folks, let's not diminish a great event by falling into a bunch of negative comments about this and that to justify why you weren't able to back up the boasts you made prior to the event. The game takes place during the rounds of play. Nothing will be proved by telling us why you didn't win because someone did whatever. It won't change the outcome or the points. All it does is change people's opinion of YOU, and not for the better I might add.

That was the turning point for me. If it wasn't for the Oreos I wouldn't have done it. Although Chris carried them out to his car, and I never saw them again. Mr. Raichu, I want my share of the Oreos!!!

I can bring some replacement cookies if you're going to league next saturday.

BTW, if any of you ever face your brother in top cut, make sure to break out into song at random times during the game. I should have picked something other than "Human Again," from Beauty and the Beast, but it was pretty darn funny either way, and Michael wouldn't stop randomly humming it.

Do you realize that the worst part was that the only reason Quinn made the top cut was becuase his brother and annother 5-2 Washington player both dropped after going 5-2 in swiss. Both of thier tiebreakers scores were in the 50's Quinn had a 48.

And on annother note, remember when 5-2 at regionals ment you had a pretty good shot at top cutting, Not any more. Last yesr 9 5-2's top cut at Regionals this year only 5. Meaning that less then 25% of all 5-2 players top cut this year. Heck 3 years ago every Master who went 5-2 top cut and the 16th Spot went to Flaming Spinach who was the top ranked 4-3 player that day. Boy things have changed. Lots and LOTS of growth.

name at least 11 of them right of the top of my head that could have boosted us over Texas's numbers. What a drag.
Oh well, 364, what an amazing turnout! It as awesome how well the judges and tournement staff kept the registration
and rounds flowing smoothly all day with that many people to keep track of. It really shows how much the region has
grown, and the people in it.

Now lets see about showing the world that it's not just our numbers that have grown, but lets show them how good
our players are at NATS!

Anyone keep track of the trophy count at States and Regionals, of the 36 trophys awarded at the 3 events who won more Washington or Oregon?

Man was that a blast.
Taco bell, free rare candies and master balls in my platinum from Eleki, Robin stealing my I-pod for a few mins every round... (Can't he get his own?), Great sportsmanship from Chris,Taco bell, Relick for placing 2nd, Me for winning four rounds, The oppontent I lost to explaining to me how to beat his deck (What a good sport), Taco bell, Sonic (The fast food place, Lolz Sonic = fast food), My dad for making me and Eleki getting to regionals possible, Jack in the box, Robin for giving me my excerise for the day... , Taco bell, LA packs cheap (I probably bought like 10 packs of LA that day), BDS for giving up his BK Crown (Chris is a king, a burger king...), Me for having to recatch the Legendary birds and cresselia 3 times after several accidents and me not saving the game..., Taco bell, Seth for getting Second in the DS Tourny, Nanette for being the great sport she is, Mike for winning the Cason award, Taco Bell, Sonic, Kingdra, Jadet for helping me with my kingdra (If she didn't help me, I probably would have got like 2-5 or 1-6), and guess what! Taco bell!
This was one of THE best events I've been to and I hope I'll remember it forever.
This kind of stuff make me want to keep playing the game until it dies, (Which I hope would happen after Pigs fly and Santa dates the Easter bunny {Who says that bunny can't be a girl?}).
Let's go OR-EE-GON and Lets go Relick!
Well now it's time for Battle roads, Let's hope theres more BR than cities. (There was like 11 cities wasn't there?)
(Yes I do like Taco bell and as Robin calls it , it's "Fake Mexicain food"

Well, if Nikki Nelson's count at the end of oregon states is correct at 14-10 washington. Then the results of regionals

3-1 masters washington
4-0 seniors washington
no one posted juniors results but even if oregon 4-0s this division it doesn't outweigh the number of trophies washington already has.

We have 3 washington players in the top 25, oregon has 1. Among those top players facing each other, steven weatherbee is 1/1 vs ross and 0/1 vs michael. In terms of money, the amount won by the seniors and masters in this tournament alone outweigh any gains moneywise oregon could have.

Any more stats?
