Pokemon Platinum :Chapter 3

[Super Saiyan 3 Raichu]

Chris had just finished his tournament challenge,, but unfortunately had finished in 2nd place because an error in judgement on his part. "I knew Salamence should've rested bfore taking on Joshua, his Charizard leveled all my pokemon before I could even warm up."
Chris wandered the streets of the city looking anywhere for signs that indicated anywhere to buy supplies and healing items for his pokemon.

Chris trned around after hearing his name caled to see his friend James, whom he hadnt seem in years.
"James. Ive havent sen you since I won that pokemon league challenge at Mandarin Island! how sit goin?"
James replied somewhat dully."Not bad. could be better, but stuff just doesnt work out like you want all the time."
"Oh im sorry, I guess you havent been winning as much huh?"Chris asked apoligetically.(SP?)
"Yeah this guy with soome wierd insigmia beat my to a pulp using this strnge pokemon, I cant describe it...I was stronger than any pokemon I have ever seen!"
Chris was a bit shocked, and somewhat taken back at the mention of this strange pokemon. Wondering about the origin of this pokemon Chris decided to go look for this trainer.
"Where did you encounter this trainer at?" Chris inquired. The reply he got was "I saw him somewhere near the Rainbow Islands that where near the coast of Lavender Town a few weeks ago. I wonder what he was doing there still..."
Lavander Town? you sure? Chris asked a bit confused. Yes.I am. James replied.
Well then if you are sure then Ill check it out for you. Chris then departed off to his destination.

-Chris had started towrd the Kanto region a few hours before, and from the change of scenery he could tell that he was getting closer to his destination. Hm this is cool, I havent been here in years! Chris said to himself. He look down and saw what had been named the Rainbow Islands, and as he looked on he realized the name didnt do it justice, Fruit trees, dotted all 10 of the islands , checkered with costal resorts and inland cities Chris could'nt resist getting a closer look. As he landed and jumped off of Salamence he was completely taken-aback at the view of the luscious fruit ttrees, and the exotic pokemon while at close proximity. Hm I sould see if there are any Wiki Berries for my Sally.
Chris and Sally started looking around for the berry trees that might be bearing the delicious Wiki Fruit that Salamence so craved, and to their good fortune they found a small clearing that was wedged between 2 rock crevices, that was filled with Wiki, Figy,Aspear, and Spelon fruit, and Chris also let out his favorite Sparky! the Raichu! while Sally was feasting on the delicious [/b]Wiki fruit, Sparky led Chris to a small cluster of Banana's and Nanab fruit[/b]. Chris had just made some small triangle finger sandwiches, with peices of Watercress, and slices of Wiki along with some pieces of fish he had just smoked ealier , and was just about to sit down and eat when he heard.... HELP!!!! he turned around and saw this blonde-haired girl being chased by 2 thugs in costumes. Sally get in there and use you Intimidate on those 2 thugs hurry! Salamence stoped eating and literally sprang between the trapped girl and her stalkers, Chris and Sparky were not far behind.
-What do you think you're doing chasing this girl? Who are you!!?! Chris inquired in a commanding voice.
Heh..one of the thugs snickered and said. Why we were chasing here is none of your business, but now that you have interfeered we will have to teach you a lesson. then the other thug said. Althogh we will tell you who we are if you can beat us in a pokemon battle.. 2 on 2!
Chris's eyes lit up at the challenge, You got it! I just hope you are ready to lose!!
Heh.kid you are goin down! Go Golbat! one of the thugs threw out a strange looking ball hat released a Golbat that loked meaner than usual...
Charmeleon I choose you! go now! The seond thug released the same ball with the aready meanlooking pokemon looking almost ferocious.
Chris thought for a minute...I got it! Sparky, Sally you know what to do!
Sparky jumped in 1st already pumped up for the fight, the proof was that Chris could see Sparky glowing slightly with his muscles taunt, a sure sign that Sparky was ready.
next jumped in Sally, and the fact that Charmeleon ,and Golbat backed down was proof that Intimidate was working.
Hmph kid you dont know what you're up against. Charmeleon Heat Wave now!:Golbat use Shadow Rush!!
Chris was so surprised by the Shadow Rush that he barely had time to react..Sally fly up and dodge the attack! Sparky Substitute hurry! Sally just barely dodged the hot blast of air from Charmeleon, while Sparky created a fake Raichu that absorbed the attacks. The Shadow Rush from Golbat delivered a heavy blow, but thankfully the doll remained intact. Now my turn Chris said. Sally use you Dragon Claw on Golbat, you Sparky call down Thunder on both of them!
The 2 thugs this time were left in awe as Sally delvered a flaming slash to Golbat which instanylt KO'ed it, and Charmeleon was BBQ'ed by Raichu's Thunder. both pokemon collapsed to the ground.

Grrr...this kid is better than we thought...said one of the thugs as they both recalled thier pokemon.
OK you got use..my names Jack, and his is Victor we both work for Team Eco thus the 4 symbols on our jackets. The flame in the top-left corner stands for fire.duh. the wave symbol on the bottom-right symbolizes water. the Asterisk symbol means Sky and the symbol in the top-right means earth, we are but peons, so we are relatively weak compared to higher ranking members, but thats all we are saying..you got lucky beating us, but beware there are a lot more of us, and they are a lot stronger..Bye
Jack threw down a smoke grenade that momentarily blinded Chris allowing them to escape. When the smoke cleared, Chris suddenly remembered that girl they had been chasing.
Chris turned around and noticed she had Blue eyes, and was wearing a halter top that showed more cleavage than is really appropriate for her age, and tight shorts that were cut off just below the thigh. hm..Thank you for saving me my name is Kessie she joyfully exclaimed.. O Im Chris nice to meet you, do you have any idea why those men where chasing you? Chris inquired as he examined Sally, and Sparky. No not really. she replied, It might have had something to do with the pokemon they used. wo knows, but Im sure we will find out more soon. hey im hungry got something to eat? Kessie asked. Oh sure here follow me.
Chris led her back to the small clearing, wear the food he had layed out was still there, he then noticed it was getting dark so he checked his pokegear, and it said 7:31. Before he began eating he went into his bookbag and pulled out the collapsable tent and some blankets, then he proceeded to put them up, and went to go eat with his new friend.
As they were eating Chris noticed 3 pokebals on her belt, and wondered. "So how old are you he asked",staring at her sparkling earings. "O Im 14 you?" she replied. "Im 14 to i came here to check out something my friend told me about so here I am, O and I see you are a pokemon trainer too. Who do you train?" he asked. "O let me show you! Go Sparkles, Loomy, and Embers." out of the 3 balls came an Ampharos, a Breloom, and a Quilava. "Im from Johto, and Ive been a trainer for almost 2 years now, and I was hoping to come here and cach some new pokemon in this region.Until those 2 thugs started chasing me. I came here trying to find a Gyarados to add to my collection..."
Chris told her "Dont worry" as he started the fire."Dotn worry now im here, along with my Sally and Sparky and the rest of my pokes, and we wont let anything happen to you."
"Tahnk you so much!" Kessie exclaimed. "Man Im bushed I really need t get some sleep" *yawn*
"Me too, but I think I'll stay up just a lttile bit longer to make sure we have enuff firewood"
"OK, goodnite" she said. "Sweet dreams Kessie." He watcned her go into the tent, and as soon as he was sure she was asleep, he told Sally to guard her, and tld Sparky to cme with him.
Chris quietly crept off to check out something, becuase he had a bad feeling, he had seen some grunts sneaking in the shadow just before Kessie went to sleep, and was a bit unsure as to what thier motives were.

Chris caught up with them, with Sparky on his shoulder, and saw 2 grunts outside standing guard.
he heard them whispering..
"Those idiots Jack and Victor, challenging a trainer, with Shadow pokemon in broad daylight!, how dumb can you be?" the 1st one said.
"Yeah, also the trainer knew they were chasing that girl so he stepped in, nobody can know about our activities on this Island, Jason entrusted us." The 2nd one said "Also I sure hope WE dont meet him."

Chris now assured that they would not be bothered stole off back to the camp, refilled the water jugs, climbed into the tent and snuggled up next to Kessie with Raichu sleeping at his head.

Chris heard a calm almost celestial voice beckoning him....telling/inviting him to come closer...it was a familiar figure.

"It has already begun"

"Wait! what do you mean?" Chris called out as the figure slipped away from him into the swirling darkness, and color.

"It has begun, only time will tell." The figure then became cloaked in shining light then slipped into the darkness.


*yawn*
Chris leaped upright and looked around, and saw Kessie and Sparky were gone. He immediatly got up and ran out the tent to see Sally,Kessie and Sparky playing a game he breathed a sigh of relief then went to check his backpack.
He looked at his Pokegear and noticed that it was 8:35 and wondered.Should we go check out that Secret Base or keep going on to Lavender Town? he thought to himself.
"Chris?" Kessie called. "Oh I see your up, I didnt mean to startle you, I just didnt want to wake you up I needed a bath so I got up early and went to that river."
"Dont worry about, your're ok and thats all that matters." Chris replied assuringly.
"Whew thanks, I didnt mean to worry you."
Chris rumaged through his backpack and found his other 3 pokeballs, that contained his other pokemon, and some Ultra Balls with which he intended to catch some pokemon. Looking deeper he located 4 Rare Candies, and about 5 Net Balls all in mixed up compartments."Hm, here's my TM02!" Tm02 contained the move Dragon Claw, he intended to teach his Grovyle that move when it evolved...
"Hey!" he called. "Kessie, how do you feel about going to catch a Gyarados?" he asked "Really?!? How?!?" She asked ecstatically. "Here." Chris tossed her some Net Balls."Just be careful, Gyarados can reall tempermental this time of year." "Dont worry I'll be fine." with that she sprang down to the beach to capture a Gyarados."Hm I dont like this" Chris thought to himself. "I think I'll follow her"
Chris recalled Salamence into the pokeball, and told Sparky to get on his Shoulder, and he jumped on his bike, and silently rode down to the beach to see her battling a strange colored Gyarados.

"Sparkles! paralyze it with a Thunder Wave! now!" Ampharos imediatly sent a small, but powerful jolt of electricity along the water that paralyzed and temperarily disoriented Gyarados allowing Kessie to capture it with a Net ball.
"YAY! I GOT ONE I GOT ONE!" Kessie said happily
"Congrats Kessie, you finally got your favorite pokemon." Chris told her acknowledgingly.
Chris then proceeded on down he beach with Kessie at his side, he was trying to find the nearest town so he could buy some Hyper Potions which would allow him to train harder, And with Kessie preoccupied with gloating over the capture of her Gyarados..
"Hey Kessie, Do you have any idea how to get to the Battle Frontier in Edos?" Chris asked
" Edos? Im not sure were it is, why?"
" There is a tournament taking place a week from now in the Battle, and im registered."
" Then I guess we should go ask around."

Chris and Kessie started walking along the coast looking for some kind of cove that woould indicate which island they should go to next.
Boom! Crack!
A loud explosion shook the area.

"Whoa! what the.." Chris yelled
There was smoke rising from an area about half a mile away.. Chris and Kessie hopped on his air bikeand rode down there.

When they arrived a house was up in flames, and there were several men in Blue standing there.

"Hah, that'll teach them that not paying their protection money will result in this. hahaha."

Chris saw a burning body fall from the 2nd story of the house, and that immediatly outraged him.

" You people..how dare you! taking innocent lives just because you didnt a few extra dollars! Arrgh.
