Tech For Zekrom Idea From Emerging Powers

I was looking around at some translations of the Black and White set, Emerging Powers, and found a card that I thought could be of some use to Zekrom.

Eelektrik - Lightning - HP90
Stage 1 - Evolves from Tynamo

Ability: Eelekidynamo
Attach a Lightning Energy card from your discard pile to one of your Benched Pokemon. You can only use one Eelekidynamo Ability per turn.

[L][L][C] Lightning Ball: 50 damage.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Zekrom can use it to pull out one Energy form the discard pile and reuse it.

It was just a thought, I just wanted to run it by the Gym.

No.

Tynamo has 30hp.

You have to wait a turn to evolve Tynamo.

Eelektrik has 2 retreat and low max hp.

Catcher exists.

Energy Acceleration is Energy Acceleration, don't ever over look it. Besides, I can see how useful it can be. If you setting up an attacker, and have Elektrik on your bench, your opponent would be more interested in taking out that instead of your attacker. People that pay close attention to retreats don't like to fit a dodrio line in there decks, or switches.

I'm not saying run a 4-4 line, but if you like it, make room for a 1-1 line and try it out.

I have been looking at how it may be used with Raichu HGSS (maybe even prime). Easily pulling off 100 damage every turn. Catcher will help you but will be problematic for you as well. Can't say that I am too fond of it in Zekrom.

This has a lot of potential with Zekrom. Sure, people can use Catcher on it, but that's the same for all Pokemon. It even has some potential with Raichu, any form of Energy Acceleration looks really good in HGSS-on.

That seems aside from the point, though. I believe that this card may be usable for others, but I think it's important to question the prescience this card has with Zekrom specifically. Is it really worth it to run a card like this when you can use trainers such as SSU or energy retrieval to fulfill what this card does?

Zekrom struggles a lot with it's late game. SSU and Energy Retrivel are nice, but it does burn out quickly. Running this as a slim line alongside it's standard techs give it more consistency later in the game, which is something it really needs.

Hmmm, I'm still not sold on it, but this is all theory for now, so I could terribly wrong. Likely hilariously so.
