Probably A Lame Question
If I declare an attack, then realize I don't have the correct energy. is my turn over? I know the answer to this but my friend wants proof. Also, if you Holon Mentor and you have no Basics, is it just a wasted Supporter? Again, for the friend. I believe it is a waster Supporter and declaring an attack, then realizing you can't, doesn't end your turn.

It was recently ruled by POP that once you declare an attack, you have moved into the Attack Step of the turn and cannot reverse back into the main body of the turn (to attach an energy card) without your opponent's permission. If you have a different attack that you can use, you can choose to do that. Otherwise your turn is over.
If you know that you have no Basics in your deck, you can still play Holon's Mentor. Or even if you find a Basic, but not any that you want to get, you can fail the seach on purpose. The contents of your deck are not shared game knowledge and so you do not have to share that info with anyone else. The Mentor did have a game effect (the seach of the deck), so it was not completely "wasted". |
