POKEMON POWERS
----------------------------------------------------------------------

== CATASTROPHE (Gengar - HS:Triumphant)

Q. If Gengar with the "Catastrophe" Poke-BODY knocks out Dialga [G] Lv.X with the "Time Crystal" Poke-BODY, does "Catastrophe" turn on in time for send Dialga [G] Lv.X to the Lost Zone rather than to the Discard Pile?
A. Time Crystal shuts off Poke-BODY's until it is out of play, in this case when Dialga [G] Lv.X goes to the Discard Pile. By that time it is too late for Catastrophe to send it to the Lost Zone. (Mar 24, 2011 PUI Rules Team)

== DITTO DNA (Ditto - DP:Legends Awakened)

Q. Say Ditto is Active against a Pokemon with 60 HP printed on it plus an Expert Belt attached to the Defending Pokemon. Does the "Ditto DNA" Poke-BODY give it 60HP, or does it copy the adjusted Maximum HP which is 80?
A. Ditto copies the 60 HP only; it does not copy the added benefit of the opponent's Expert Belt. In other words, Ditto is always copying the Defending Pokemon's HP as written on its card. (Mar 24, 2011 PUI Rules Team)

== ECTOPLASM (Dusknoir Lv.X - DP:Stormfront)

Q. If I have an active Dusknoir Lv.X with a Rescue Energy attached and he is knocked out by damage from my opponent's attack, will Dusknoir's "Ectoplasm" Poke-POWER allow it to become a stadium?
A. Ectoplasm happens just before the point when Dusknoir Lv.X is KO'd, and since it's an optional Poke-POWER you can choose to use it or not. So Rescue Energy would only return Dusknoir Lv.X and the other Pokemon cards to your hand if Ectoplasm was not used. (Nov 18, 2010 PUI Rules Team; Mar 24, 2011 PUI Rules Team)

***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above *****
Q. If I have an active Dusknoir Lv.X with a Rescue Energy attached and he is knocked out by damage from my opponent's attack, will Dusknoir's "Ectoplasm" Poke-POWER allow it to become a stadium?
A. The order of resolution for the effects can be decided by the owner of the Pokemon with Rescue Energy attached to it. If you choose to use Dusknoir Lv.X's Ectoplasm first, then the rest of the Pokemon cards are discarded per that effect's text regardless of Rescue Energy. But if you choose to use Rescue Energy first, all Pokemon cards including Dusknoir Lv.X are returned to the hand. (Nov 18, 2010 PUI Rules Team)

== FAINTING SPELL (Gengar - DP:Stormfront)

Q. If Gengar with Rescue Energy is KO'd by damage from my opponent's attack, do I get to use its "Fainting Spell" Poke-POWER and then recover it with Rescue Energy, or does Rescue Energy go first and then I can't use "Fainting Spell"?
A. Fainting Spell happens just before the point when Gengar is KO'd, and since it's an optional Poke-POWER you can choose to use it or not. Then after the Poke-POWER has been used (or not), Rescue Energy kicks in and returns Gengar to your hand. So if you forgot to use Fainting Spell, it is too late to use it after Rescue Energy has occurred. (Mar 24, 2011 PUI Rules Team)

== PORTRAIT (Smeargle - HS:Undaunted)

Q. If I use Smeargle's "Portrait" Poke-POWER and find "Engineer's Adjustments" in my opponent's hand, do I have to use it if I have an Energy card in my hand?
A. Yes, if you have an energy card and you choose Engineer's Adjustments, you have to discard the energy and draw 4 cards. (Dec 9, 2010 PUI Rules Team; Mar 17, 2011 PUI Rules Team)

***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above *****
Q. If I use Smeargle's "Portrait" Poke-POWER and find "Engineer's Adjustments" in my opponent's hand, do I have to use it even if I have an Energy card in my hand?
A. The contents of your hand are not public knowledge, so you would not have to choose Engineer's Adjustments even if you know there is an Energy Card in your hand. (Dec 9, 2010 PUI Rules Team)

== TIME CRYSTAL (Dialga [G] Lv.X - PL:Platinum)

Q. If Gengar with Rescue Energy is KO'd by damage from my opponent's attack, do I get to use its "Fainting Spell" Poke-POWER and then recover it with Rescue Energy, or does Rescue Energy go first and then I can't use "Fainting Spell"?
