Pokemon Party Playoff (Prizes Announced!!! Vote for your Favorite Comment Now!!!)
So, I've been brewing this game over the past two years based on a party game of a similar name made by the people behind Cranium. Since MUCH of this forum game is based on that game, you may want to read some information about Party Playoff, which can be found here. The game is called Party Playoff.
In essence, the game pits 32 random things (People, Places, Items, and Places) against each other in a bracket-style playoff with zany questions, asking you to decide which of a playoff pair would be easier to explain to aliens or which of a certain two items would taste better on an ice cream sundae. the fun of the game comes from deriving some sort of logic based on the question and convincing others to vote along your line of reasoning. Of course, since this IS a Pokemon board, I've put a Pokemon theme to our version of this game. Check out the rules below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ RULES: 1. Entry: A. To Enter this game, you first will need to post the following four things: --A Pokemon of your choice. --An attack from the TCG or Video Game --A Person from the Pokemon TCG, Anime, or video game universe. --A Location within the Pokemon video game or anime or Stadium card from the Pokemon TCG. (((SAMPLE ENTRY: --Bulbasaur --Tackle --Brock --Pallet Town))) a.1. Players cannot submit an item that has been selected by another player, so please check the compiled list before putting in an entry. B. All entries in this first round will be compiled and randomized into four brackets of eight (8) items each (8 People, 8 Places, 8 Attacks, 8 Pokemon). Players will then select the following things from the provided bracket: --Final 2 from each bracket --Finalist from Each bracket (Top Pokemon, Attack, Person, Place) --Winner of Top Pokemon vs. Top Attack --winner of Top Person vs. Top Place --Winner of Top Person/Place vs. Top Pokemon/Attack (Overall Winner) --The number of votes the Overall Winner will receive. b.1. Players MUST submit their full bracket before the first round of the tournament begins. Failure to do so will result in elimination. b.2. Bracket selections should NOT be posted publicly until after the contest. They should be PMed to me for entry. C. Game will be capped at 40 entries max, 12 entries minimum. 2. The Votes: A. After initial entries are closed, all entries submitted will be randomized into 4 brackets of 8 items. (8 People, 8 Places, 8 Attacks, 8 Pokemon) Not all entries will make the bracket. This will not affect anyone’s scoring for the run of the tournament bracket. Also, the final question will be posted when the final bracket is created. a.1. The bracket will look the same as this one, which is the one used in the board game this game is based on: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/416069/party-playoff a.2. The bracket will be made available for public viewing at www.BracketMaker.com. Link will be available once the bracket has been finalized. B. At the beginning of each voting round, a question will be posed for the bracket for that day. For each pairing left in that bracket, each player must vote for ALL pairings left in that bracket. b.1. These questions may not make much sense, and your logic must be used to come up with the best answer for each pairing. b.2. Players are encouraged to post their reasoning for their vote in each pairing. This is where most of the entertainment for the game comes from: seeing the illogical logic that comes from these crazy questions! b.3. For the final round, the previously posted question will be used. All other rounds will use questions randomly selected from the game box. C. After a set amount of time (longer for earlier rounds, shorter for the later rounds), votes will be totaled. Those with the most votes will advance in the bracket; the others will be left in the dust back in the bracket. c.1. If a tie occurs in a match-up, a randomly selected player will issue the final, tie-breaking vote based on the reasonings mentioned in the topic. c.2. If the tie-breaking vote is not submitted on time, I will break the vote based on the debate occurring in topic. 3. Scoring: Scoring for the game will consist of the following: --Final 2 from each bracket (1 pt each) --Finalist from Each bracket (2 pts each) --Winner of Top Pokemon vs. Top Attack (4 pts) --winner of Top Person vs. Top Place (4 pts) --Winner of Top Person/Place vs. Top Pokemon/Attack (8 pts) --The number of votes the Overall Winner will receive. (only used in the event of a tiebreaker) The player with the most points after the Overall Winner is selected will be declared the winner! PLAYER STANDINGS: 1. Sandslash7 (27) 2. PikaJew1213 (9) (TIEBREAKER: 13) 3. flygon_frank_66 (9) (TIEBREAKER: 36) 4. ThePokePlayer (7) 5. Akane (6) 6. Scottistru (4) 7. AlmightyGoldenGarchomp (3) 8. honchvire (3) 9. Victory Bell (3) 10. Benzo (2) 11. thunderjolt (1) DROPPED but may still vote: --Luxraygarchomp --JewelQuest --cabd --snorlax44 --gallade --PokemonPizzaParty * - Player submitted a bracket, but needs to do edits + - Player correctly submitted a bracket Player has not responded to PMs or has dropped from the contest OFFICIAL BRACKET: Pokemon Party Playoff on BracketMaker.com Bracket Pic: PKMN Playoff on Flickr.com Pokemon: Ditto! VS VS Attacks: VS VS People: Red! VS VS Red vs. Places: VS VS Victory Road vs. FINAL QUESTION: Which would look cooler on the front of a T-Shirt? --Red vs. WINNER: RED!!! ------------------------------------------------------ BRACKET SAMPLE ENTRIES: Here's an example of how your entry should look: Quote:

Also, remember that the T-Shirt question isn't for every round. That's only the question for the final round. The other questions will only be announced when we get to that bracket, so you'll have to determine your own criteria at first to whittle down the bracket. --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- CURRENT ROUND: FINAL ROUND: QUESTION: Which would look cooler on the front of a T-Shirt? --Red or Ditto ----------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Hope y'all enjoy the game!!! ~Cardz.
