Championship Arena 2005 rarity/price?

I was wondering what the distribution/rarity/price was for this card. I know the basics in how it was released but I do not know how many were given out.

So can anyone please give me some more detailed information about this card? Please and thank you :)

Wasn't one given to every player who earned a trip to worlds and showed up? I believe it was a surprise of some sort that was left in their hotel rooms while they were out. Could be wrong, just the story I heard when I came back to the game. It has been rumored there are 255 of these.

I could be wrong though. You know how rumors are.

In late 2005, I sold one of mine for a solid $80. Nowadays the value of it has shot up to more or less $120: partly due to inflation, and partly due to real increase.

How many are there? Well, as Wayne mentioned, only some (not all) trip winners received them. I bet the best place to look is the travel award structure that year, and - for argument's sake - assume that everyone got one. :)

If you aren't finding anything, it means it's been too long since any were even offered for sale.

There's another reason that they're worth so much. Apparently they were given out by being put in an envelope and "lightly" being put under the qualifiers hotel door. And because of that alot of them were accedentally thrown away and quite a few got a small crease from being put under the door. A perfectly mint one is pretty rare.

The Japanese version normally goes for $30-50 USD. It's not as rare as the English one.

What would be the value of one with the presentation backing signed by the two game creators while they were standing next to me on the stage after the tournament ending trophy presentation?

When were you selling them? I sold mine for over $200. The last one I saw sold for $122 plus shipping, so that should be your benchmark.

Worlds 05 had about 128 players PER age group if I remember correctly. I have to believe it's about 500 of them. I think that you should bank on that, because that to me seems like the logical number. They were suppose to give them out to everyone. There was a miscommunication and they made sure that everyone who was suppose to get one got it, trip or not.

I think that Championship Arena is one card the if you got it signed it would either DECREASE it's value, or keep it the same. I don't think the presentation folder getting signed does much for it, but I could be wrong.

Which is why I had the folder signed. I agree that getting the actual card signed with hurt its value.

I think signed or unsigned, having the presentation folder at all will increase the value a bit, most of them don't.

Signed items are always heavily depending on the buyer, I personally dislike rare cards being signed, but having the presentation folder signed sounds pretty awesome.
