HD's Create-A-Card Contest: Results are In! Congratulations Honchvire!

Hello everyone! HD here, bringing you a new contest to have fun with!

YOUR GOAL:
-Create a card of a Pokemon that currently does not have a card in Modified. (By actual species, not necessarily by name) If you don't know if a Pokemon has a legal card, check http://www.serebii.net/card/dex/ and use the drop-down boxes to browse to a specific Pokemon, or use the researching tower. It must be viable for play in Modified, otherwise, it is likely to lose.

-The card(s) you create cannot use outdated mechanics (Owner's Pokemon, ex, Star, etc),EX mechanics, or LEGEND mechanics. They should follow standard card trends. This means it may have only 1 attack, only 2 attacks, or both 1 attack and 1 Ability. Cards with 2 attacks and an Ability will NOT be accepted!

-If the Pokemon is part of an evolutionary line, you must create the cards that are part of that evolution.

-Yes, you may make a Kadabra line if you so choose.

-A text spoiler is required. Images are optional, but recommended. How to make a text spoiler can be found at http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.p...42&postcount=6

-As Otaku put it: "Don't just try to create some ultimate 'Over 9000!' card that is blatantly, or even subtley broken. Try to make it competitive, but you're better off with a near miss that was almost good enough to use than something that makes the Ban _______ crowd curl into the fetal position."

-Also from Otaku: "Likewise, if it is really nice art and kind of creative but hopeless in any current or previous format... no"

-If you submit early and want to make changes to your card, you may do so before the deadline is up.

-All text/images must be PM'ed to me by June 9. That should be plenty of time. Any cards submitted later will not be accepted unless I personally tell you otherwise. If you want to make a tweak to a card you have already submitted, you may do so up until June 11.

-You may sign up below. There is no limit to how many people sign up, so have at it! If you do not sign up, I WILL NOT accept your card.

I'm in. Why not. One question on evolution lines, how do split evolutions work? For instance, Gorebyss/Huntail where neither are modified can you make both, or Gallade where the whole line except Gallade is modified, or even baby Pokemon like Mantyke where there is a Mantine.

In the case of a branched evolution, you should make both of them.

If a Pokemon has a baby in it's evolutionary line, you should do the Baby as well.

Is that consistant with Gallade where the other cards are in the format (and the babies)? But thanks for the clarifcation.

Oh, I see what you're saying.

If Gardevoir is in the format (which it is), then just go Ralts-Kirlia-Gallade. Ralts and Kirlia exist, but are required to reach Gallade anyway.

One question, though. How many in combination of abilities and attacks are we allowed per card? Will it be up to 3 (like in the DP era) or only up to 2 (like in the more recent cards)?

Keep it to 2 because that is the standard for this Modified format.

Would a Pokemon that has a card currently in rotation in Japan, but not in other countries count as "not in Modified"?

Yes, you can make a card for that, as long as it isn't an exact copy of the Japanese version.

Alright, two people have submitted very early. I will avoid divulging opinions so I don't encourage you to change your cards or not to change your cards.

Also, Otaku is going to bea co-judge for this. I'm also going for a 3rd judge, but I'll get back to you guys on that.

Someone's submission (not going to mention names) brought up this point:

Current trends means either 1 attack, 2 attacks, or 1 attack and 1 Ability. 2 attacks and 1 Poke Power/Body is only available on HGSS cards, which means it is NOT the current trend.

Also of note, although the submission deadline is June 9, you may tweak your cards up until June 11, at which point all submissions are locked as what they are. Note that this does not mean new submissions will be accepted past June 9. Only tweaks may be submitted then.
