Cool T&T getting greedy on buying Bulk?

I've been watching T&T over the past 3 months and have noticed ever since they added their new buylist, prices have begun to change. Will troll and toad be more realistic now with their prices or are they trying to maximize their profits on the bulk side of things?

At the start of the year, T&T was purchasing bulk commons for .055 each. Within this past week, they dropped it to .05 each. As I logged on today to check, they now pay for Bulk at $0.025/card..

Thank god I just sent off the rest of my bulk I got off eBay or I would of lost money..

What do you think?

Just to clarify, I am getting .05 each. I would NEVER sell cards for .025 .. That is just absurd,

Hmmm. Never thought about that. T&T could be doing that because they're aware that people are going to send off rotated bulk. Hopefully when things settle down, they'll pay more.

I really hope people will refuse to sell to T&T at these prices.

Because they are RIDICULOUS.

Sadly, it probably won't happen. People are too in the habit of selling at Nats, I fear.

A few years back, many people (myself included) were blind enough to sell bulk commons to collector's cache for only 2 cents a piece. The customer service was not good, and the employees were rude, yet tens if not hundreds of people still sold them en masse.

For at least that reason, I guarantee you that paying only 2.5 cents will not hurt their (Troll and Toad's) bottom line. People might not be able to make small businesses out of selling them bulk anymore, but they will continue to do business.

Sorry guys, just sold 6600 yesterday...Maybe that had something to do with it? :tounge:

Anyway people, so that means they'll pay us a cent in person. PEOPLE, BOYCOTT THEM IF YOU DONT LIKE IT. Take a loss at Collectot's Cache if you're inclined, anything to show we won't stand for this.

Does Collector's Cache even buy bulk? I don't remember them doing it at Nats last year.

Anyways, I emailed them last night asking why they lowered their price and the guy told me, "I'm not entirely sure". However, he said the price will go back up when their inventory goes down.

They make over 10x profit. You would be surprised how many people buy commons/uncommons there since no one lists cards on ebay. Listing fee + all of paypal and ebay fees make T&T the cheapest place.

And they also sell bulk lots that Grandparents/Parents think are awesome because they get XXXX useless cards for "cheap".

If you noticed, they are also 'sold out' on most of their good cards. I'm betting that they are in stock @ nats. It's pretty much the same thing every year. Last year was 4˘. This year it's 2.5˘. If you've noticed the trend on the trading forums, EVERYBODY and their brother is trading for bulk now. Since around December/January it's been like that. Where do you think everyone has been unloading it? TnT of course. I'm betting that would be why they have a glut atm. I've personally sold them 7-8k cards this year alone And I'm prolly one of the low number shippers. Also have to account for all the ppl buying multiple boxes of EX sets as well as the dozens, maybe hundreds, of cases they opened themselves. All that adds up to many lbs of 'worthless' cardboard. Want prices to rise? Stop sending them your bulk. I know I won't send any more cards til the rates increase.

There's a simple solution for this. If you don't like their buying prices then go somewhere else. T&T aren't the only people that buy cards you know. One of my local card shops buys bulk commons for ˘2 each for example.

Not everyone has local card shops though, so T&T was there only outlet. My solution would just be stop dealing in bulk until the prices get to be what you want.

Oh boohoo y'all.

I'm just saying, there are other fish in the sea.
I'm just saying, those who want to sell your bulk, sell it elsewhere.

I'm tired of all this trollandtoad nonsense.
People are like, THEY OVER PRICE CARDS, THEY NEVER HAVE WHAT I NEED -sob-, THEIR PREORDER PRICES ARE INSANE, THEY LOWERED THEIR BUYING RATES, BECAUSE EVERYONE IS LOADING OFF 1000s OF CARDS TO THEM WHAT EVER ARE WE GOING TO DO?

Seriously now. If EVERYONE is mad at the company, why do I hear so much talk about it?
It is like someone once told me, word of mouth travels a lot faster, when it is surfing...
By making all these threads and such about how TROLLANDTOAD is unfair, you will notice, they are making MORE MONEY! I would not have heard of the site, if it weren't for these forums, I'm sure MANY people would agree...

So they lowered their prices to buy things? Is it wrong to say, McDonalds can terminate the $1 for any size soft drink deal? It isn't wrong, but I'm sure if they were losing profit, all you gym members who are complaining, who went there, would complain about not getting your large sarsaparilla for $1, but you'd get something else off the menu.

They are a business.. Sure it is rude as to what they did, but they never DID say, we are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS buying at this price.

Trollandtoad buying bulk paid for my rent this month haha.

But of course with rotation announced and nats coming up, its necessary to lower their buy prices.

I think you forgot the BIGGEST problem of all... they advertise NM cards but don't send NM cards!!

Anyway, this isn't a hate TNT thread so I won't derail it.

I don't think anyone's going RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE over this; at least not visibly. I just saw it as meh. And an inconvenience. And like I said, supply and demand. They are expecting to be over-supplied in the coming month and are acting accordingly. But as much as they're going to buy, they're going to be selling as well.

Patience is a virtue, they say.

Oh, and there's always ebay. I've sold PLAYED bulk there at essentially 7c/card before. It's amazing what people will buy.

Why do people consider the lowering of prices by T&T rude? They are a business, and can do whatever they want. They do not have an obligation to anyone. They buy what they want to and sell what they want, and whatever prices they want. If you don't like their prices, don't do business with them. It's not "rude" that they lowered their buy prices. They just did it because of various known and unknown factors, and since they are a business, they need money to stay afloat, so they did what they did. If you don't like it, get over it. There are 10's of other places to buy and sell cards.

Would I sell for .025 cents, no. I think you have to look at it this way. They are about to head to Nationals, where they are MOST certainly going to pick up an insane amount of Commons/Uncommons. I think this is to detract from people selling to them online because frankly, they know they'll get nearly 100K or so in two weeks. I think that you have to realize that it's because of Nationals is so close, and nothing else.

I'm sorry, but I burst out laughing when I saw this. You think that 6.6K is going to lower their price? You obviously haven't sold enough commons/uncommons then. I usually sell around 14K at a time, and that doesn't get them to lower their prices, so trust me when I say that while 6.6K might be a lot to you, it is chump change to stores that buy bulk like Toad and Troll.

That is awesome. I laugh at all bulk traders, except a select few who are fair, but for the most part, those who are greedy and expect 3000 bulk for a Victini FA for example, I laugh
