And I am still amazed that they are giving us the Hydreigon and Garchomp from the sets and not the Half decks in our theme decks. This is a good move by TPCi. |

No; it says basic, so they would not.

I find the Rayquaza confusing. it says "basic energy attached", not "basic energy card attached" so may be you could think that prism energy does get discarded because when it is attached it provides a "basic" energy.

. The line that states if the Pokemon it is attached to is Basic then it provides any energy is the effect of the card. This may be a new form of text reduction on TPCi's end.

I think the Rayquaza may be a mis-translation. If this is the case, then they have time to fix it before the set and tins are released. Even if it does read this way, I think I'll be playing Blend energy Fire/Dark/Psychic/Grass or basic fire regardless so Raikou doesn't have to discard 3 energy

Quick note before stuff gets too out of hand: The cards seen in the windows of these Theme Decks images were unfortunately incorrect. We're updating these images, but sadly those did go out on the press materials. Given the packaging you can probably guess that they're the right Pokémon, but the wrong card from Dragons Exalted.

This is not one of them, however. Of course, if Altaria is in the themes deck at least, or is the prerelease promo, then maybe I forgive them.

Good TSS? Good Garchomp? Good Gabite? THEN you'd have a winner. Not until then. |

I would have bought 2, maybe 4. That 2 or 4 less theme decks they are going to sell, and as such 20 or 40 dollars worth of profit TPCi won't see, since now I'm just buying singles.

Oh great, now he is saying that the theme decks have the Hydreigon and Garchomp with the ugly art.
But look at it this way, this time, Hydreigon has better attacks, and Garchomp has free retreat. But I understand why having bad cards in theme decks are necessary. I don't think it is a smooth move by not attracting new players by having some veteran buying all the theme decks, just because of one card, but the opposite is also true, that any new player won't buy the theme deck, if the theme deck is too simplistic, that it is so boring to use. |

lol I'm probably the only person excited by the theme deck news. Yea it's a bit of a bummer the theme decks won't have playable cards, but I'm no longer worried about the good garchomp/hydreigon being nonholo in the set anymore

It's hard to be mad at them after they put Mewtwo Darkrai and Rayray in tins. I do hope Altaria will be in one of the decks, that would be awesome.

I have to admit, I am upset over this news. It would have been an amazing thing for the game as a whole. TPCi would make more money and I actually would have bought a theme deck (only time this block was Zekrom and Reshiram) as would everyone I know who plays Pokemon. It would have also made two tier 1 decks very affordable to play considering as Darkrai is in a tin now. The only saving grace those theme decks will have is if one of them contains Altaria and the other has the effect Gabite. If not then I really don't see these selling.

Im actually happy about this, seriously why does everyone complain? These starters arent for competetive players anyways... The biggest problem with all our sets is that they have some cards that are really expensive (mew2/darkrai) and everything else is completly useless. I hardly bother with trading anymore because you either have the really expensive cards or not, theres no inbetween.. Just look at e.g. Triumphant, hardly a usable foil/rare card.
So Its pretty nice that well get some good foils who might keep a stable value of like 5/6$, we need more usable and foils and rares
