Going into Top Cut? The person would lose Game 1 of the best 2 out of 3

A player would merely lose a game. That means that he'll start the best of three match one game down. The person with the game loss will need to win two games to win the match while the player receiving the win only needs to get one more win to win the match.

A top cut MATCH consist of the best of three GAMES. If you are issued a game loss, you start down one game, but you can be issued a match loss.
Some good places to look for some scenarios is OK states last year. They had a few people get game losses for sleeves going into top cut. If I remember correctly, two guys in top cut were issued a game loss each, then were paired together, meaning it was the best of one essentially.
