TSA/Flying with cards

So, in lieu of flying to Worlds in a few weeks, I had a question for those that have flown with cards inboard before-

Should I have any issues carrying-on a few decks, or would they be better in checked luggage?

This.

A friend of mine lost his checked luggage. He still got to play nats because he had his deck in his carry-on. TSA will not give you any trouble for your cards. Bring your important cards with you in your carry-on bags.

I haven't been very trusting with my luggage since I lost my luggage as a kid, and have been bringing cards (even entire binders at times) with me in carry-ons for years, so you shouldn't have any problems with a few decks.

A. No, you can't. That would be far too mischievous. (HS:Undaunted FAQ; Sep 9, 2010 PUI Rules Team)

Oh, by the time I'm done, I'm certain I'll be carrying a binder or two.

Thanks!

We were stopped in Orlando and asked to see what was in the binders/deck boxes. Evidently the Holo cards show up weird in whatever scanner they use in Orlando.

I hope you at least understand WHY it's necessary for them to fret.

I've had my cards looked through a time or two. Dude opened one box, shrugged, and put them back. Sometimes the way you layer stuff in a thick backpack makes things look odd to be carried in a back pack if you don't play card games. You should be fine. The only thing they do is look really.

Oh, I definitely do, and realize I shouldn't complain.

I used to get stopped all the time by TSA for my beard and long hair.
I also had a friend who is half middle eastern and he got detained for a few hours when we were coming back from canada one time.
Granted, this was 8 or so years ago.
I've not had problems bringing decks with me. They love to search my ds case(its metal and looks like a mini attache case you'd see in 007 movies).

DO NOT CHECK THE CARDS! Carry them with you in another suitcase if you have to. You will lose decks at some point. It is not a myth-- do not check the cards. They will get stolen.

Or flat out lost. I remember my sister checking her binder of cards like 8 years ago, and we lost all of our baggage.

Also went through TSA a few days ago with two decks and was perfectly fine.

I have never gotten flak for carrying any sort of cards in my bag. The only times I had gotten patted down were once in Omaha when I was forced to fly standby because of a change to the itinerary, once in Phoenix when I was carrying a bazillion textbooks in my backpack, and once in DC after a flight change.
