Holy...
The graphics are amazing! It takes a while to load, even on 4G, but the graphics, design, and animation on this are spectacular! I'm not sure whether the American and Japanese development teams can work together develop an online TCG program, because what the Japanese currently have is amazing. I'm not sure if there are errors for common cards like there was on PTCGO, but in terms of user interface, this is a significant improvement over the new PTCGO (May release). Playing against the AI, there are no lag issues when shuffling, drawing, or searching. Very cool. Thanks for posting this link. I would've never found it had you not linked it here.

No major errors as far as I could tell.
In fact, the game was quite pleasant. The starter decks having EX cards ad decent T/S/S lineups? Yes please.

I will say that the inability to initiate a game action by clicking on the card takes a little getting used to. That's one area where PTCGO, in my opinion, is better. Eventually though, I got used to the fact that I would have to take any game action by clicking on the sidebar.

Unfortunately, this is not a TCGO feature you all are expecting. This is a tutorial and learning section catering to new players as their campaign to get more players playing. The top section featuring the Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott cards redirects to their card database. The section featuring Serperior is in fact a 30 card deck match vs an AI using the Japanese Beginning Set. While the one next to it is a 60 card deck match vs an AI featuring the Reshiram EX Battle Strength Deck and the Zekrom EX Battle Strength Deck. The bottom left featuring Zekrom is a deck building quiz for the most part. The bottom right is an actual quiz. So, sorry for anyone expecting to play against some Japanese players. =P

There was a Japanese "PTCGO" a few years ago featuring the batle decks (Blastoise, Metagross, Torterra, Magmortar) which was pretty much our HG2 set. I got to play online with this program and it was pretty sick. it was HTML and it was a lot smoother than the old PTCGO. I was surprised to find out how the builds we not similar when i played the old ptcgo and the japanese online. To my understanding they even gave out a Worlds invite via the online program.

The version I found information on was built around Flash apparently. A CD came bundled with the Leafeon VS Metagross Expert Deck. Although, this was later shut down August 2010 to focus on the BW era cards. Also, the layout and design was carried over to their tutorial and learning section for the vs AI matches.
There is another program that I know of called WISDOM. This allowed Japanese players to play test against each other similar to how Redshark worked. If it is still being worked on or not I don't really have an answer. For the most part, most Japanese players utilize Skype, Gym Challenges (pretty much local tournaments for the most part), or have meet-ups for a lot of their play testing needs. |
