Exclamation Help! PC box gives black screen!

I recently got Pokemon platinum for my Ds, and ever since my friend traded me a caterpie I can;t get into my PC box without it turning into a black screen.

I can deposite, but the withdraw or move options give me a black screen. Is there a way to fix this???

Sounds to me as if part of the game cartridge is corrupt. You got it used, correct? If so, the cartridge could be damaged in that area.

Did this happen before you did the trade?
If not, the Caterpie was not legit and could have messed up the game, since the depositing of Pokemon into the PC is "reseting" the Pokemon's "hacked" status unless the actual coding from the hack is not something the game can reset to the original coding.

Please provide more insight into the matter, it is a bit complicated to give a direct reply to a question that needs more questions to dwell into possible conclusions as to why or how to fix an issue.

It may just boil down to wiping the file and starting a new game to fix this without knowing more details.
