Ready, Set? Go?

Something I have always wondered about:

How come we skipped some sets here and there? I remember looking forward to the G/S VS gym leader set, but they skipped it. And they skipped other various sets over here. Anyone know why?

VS... *shudder*

Yeah, I remember that set. It created a furore on the boards back when the images were first produced. New card backs. The removal of evolutions and stages. All basic attacks. For the longest time the Master Trainers stayed tight-lipped about wether WotC would bring it over. The vast majority of board members wanted nothing to do with it. Eventually, WotC must've decided that it would be just too unpopular to bother releasing.

It was a draft set, as far as I remember. For younger players. If you cracked a Charizard, you could play it from hand, and it had easy, simple attacks. Most of the attacks were colourless and only dealt damage, with no attack text.

Despite being a collector, I heaved a huge sigh of relief when Wizards said they'd give it the skip.

Dec 2007: Status officially downgraded from "Occasional to Rare Visitor" to "Inactive." It's been great guys!
