DotA (Kabutops/Aerodactyl) : DP-SV
This is my first truly original deck, so I'd like help in making this as fast and consistent as possible.
----- DotA - Kabutops/Aerodactyl.dek Poke'mon: 21 3 Kabuto - MD 4 Kabutops - MD 2 Aerodactyl - MD 2 Baltoy - GE 3 Claydol - GE 2 Relicanth - GE 2 Unown G 1 Azelf - LA 1 Relicanth - SV 1 Uxie - LA Supporters/Trainers/Stadiums: 29 3 Roseanne's Research 2 Bebe's Search 2 Fossil Excavator 1 Cynthia's Feelings 1 Palmer's Contribution 4 Dome Fossil 4 Poke' Drawer + 4 Rare Candy 2 Old Amber 2 Warp Point 1 Luxury Ball 1 Night Maintenance 2 Broken Time-Space Energies: 10 7 Energy3 Call Energy ----- Strategy: Get Kabutops as active ASAP! If you're going second, it's ideal to be able to Candy or BTS into Kabutops if at all possible. Aerodactyl can keep your opponent's cards like Beedrill, Palkia Lv. X, Claydol, Azelf, and Uxie in check, while providing extra spread damage for Kabutops. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory. ----- Things I would like to work into the deck: - More Fossil Excavations (Such a key card in the deck, seeing as Fossil's are so hard to get back from the discard pile) - ENERGY ACCELERATION! (I should be attacking with Kabu ASAP, not waiting til T3 to get the energies set up... Thinking about Regirock+Stark, but I don't like giving Flygon immunity for a turn... Bronzong G+Flint's is also another idea) - Jamming Ampharos (Extra spread damage once per turn? Yes please) The only problem? SPACE! It's so hard to fit the stuff I need into this deck. I really love this deck, and would like it to be good enough to make top cut in League, or even a BR. Anyone truly serious about helping me with this may PM me, so we can discuss this deck in private. All comments/suggestions are still welcome on this thread though. |

Poke'mon: 16
2 Kabuto - MD 3 Kabutops - MD 2 Aerodactyl - MD 2 Baltoy - GE 3 Claydol - GE 2 Relicanth - GE 2 Chatot G Supporters/Trainers/Stadiums: 32 3 Roseanne's Research 4 Bebe's Search 4 Fossil Excavator 1 Palmer's Contribution 3 Dome Fossil 4 Rare Candy 2 Old Amber 2 Warp Point 1 Luxury Ball 1 Night Maintenance 2 Broken Time-Space 2 Stark's Mountain 3 Flint Energies: 12 8 Energy4 Call Energy Ok. You attach to your benched Kabutops line. You Flint to your active Chatot G and move it with Stark. Then you attack and get whatever trainer you want (amber/fossil/candy/etc.). This build will take care of 2 of your problems- energy acceleration and nabbing fossils. Plus the bird will slow your opponent down as you restructure the top 4 of their deck. I also fit in those Fossil Excavations for ya! Try this. You'll like it. I promise. I ran a Kabutops/Aerodactyl/Ampharos and while it was fun, it was also clunky

I was sitting somewhere around:
2 Kabuto - MD 4 Kabutops - MD 2 Aerodactyl - MD 1 Mareep - PT 1 Ampharos - SW 2 Baltoy - GE 2 Claydol - GE 2 Relicanth - GE 2 Unown G 1 Azelf - LA 1 Uxie - LA 20. 4 Fossil Excavation 2 Bebe's Search 2 Roseanne's Research 4 Dome Fossil 4 Poke' Drawer + 4 Rare Candy 2 Luxury Ball 2 Old Amber 2 Warp Point 1 Night Maintenance 1 Broken Time-Space 28. 8 Fighting 4 Call 12. But I'll try your list, looks good. Save for the fact that 15 Supporters sounds like a lot. |

You'll never use all the supporters- you're right. What it does is make it more likely you will draw into the key supporter you need at the time by running so many.

I might work Azelf into your build. If you prize all 3 Kabu's and you're not playing against Luxray, that's game.

Do you know how unlikely that is?

Azelf is completely unnecessary in this deck. If all your 'Tops are prized, you've already lost with, or without, the Azelf. Azelf would just get in the way on the bench and take up a spot in the deck, forcing you to leave something out you actually need.
The list I posted will be a very decent one. Run it several times against several different people, play styles, and decks. There will probably be some tweaking which could improve this or that, but you won't find out where it needs the help without playing it as is first. So, go out, play the deck, and then let me know where the weak and strong points are and I'll be happy to help you more. Adding "x" and removing "y" now is like playing darts in a room so dark you can't even see your hand in front of your face, much less the dart board.
