Ampharos PL Vs. Gengar SF

I apologize if someone has asked this question before. I searched, and could not find an answer to this question. Anyway, does Ampharos PL's Poke-Body block the effect of Gengar SF's Fainting Spell Poke-Power? I thought the answer was yes, but I have doubts seeing as Fainting Spell is triggered upon Gengar being knocked out. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you place the damage first, before fainting spell can trigger.
