Stepping out of ancient times comes a Pokémon so mighty that legends say it shaped the Pokémon universe! On November 4th, 2009, Trainers everywhere can prepare to harness and wield the awesome power of the new legendary Alpha Pokémon Arceus with the arrival of the all-new Pokémon Trading Card Game: Platinum—Arceus expansion. Multiple Energy types of Arceus, such as Fire, Lightning, and Grass, will have opponents preparing for the devastation of fantastic new attacks.

Kind of funny. 94/99 on Arceus Lv.X, yet the info says, "more than 100 cards". Secret rares anyone? LOL

90 cards in AoA, 22 unique cards in AoA decks, so how does 111 = 100-ish?

Isn't this where people are gonna use all types of Arceus now and have ton of this LV.X versions in a deck?
Also, why do I get the feeling a lot of the new cards are gonna have you discard something?

do you think there going to get rid of majestic dawn when they rotate cards out because some of this dosent really makes sence i think or will they not rotate any cards out again

My hunch is that the format next season will be Platinum-On.

I think the reason they skipped the rotation this year is because it would have cut the block in half, probably at MD, and there would have been some weird situations.

Waiting two years to rotate all DP sets out is a great idea. Then two years from now, they can rotate out all the Platinum sets and have Legend-On.

My hunch:

2010-2011: Platinum-On (removal of 7 sets over 2 years = 3.5 sets rotated per year)
2011-2012: Legend-On (removal of 4 Platinum sets, close to 3.5 guestimation)

2012-2013 will be up in the air. If japan produces 7 or 8 Legend sets, we may see another 2 year gap in rotation. If Legend is only around for 4 more sets before the next big block, then expect to see them go out.

Again...my HUNCH.

Prime...I hope not, as the loss of Weavile and Claydol would certainly hinder the best decks (for Official tourney's that is).

well they to release another drapion just like that heatran when stormfront gos out yea.....you know and leafon and glacion those would just be ordinary cards well that leafon still is good all by its self

The League Promos retain their set symbols. They will NOT be DP Promos. Pending normal rotation, Uxie and Claydol WILL rotate out next year.

If the U.S. Arceus set runs similar to the JPN set, they have those Shinies cards in there too, a Ponyta, a Bagon, and 1 other I can't remember. Can't wait for this set, so I can have a LEGAL Mothim deck, rather than my AoA one now.

But we ALL would lose Claydol, so it would still be an even playing field. It's not like half of us can use Claydol and the other half can't.

Or, Arceus could have it's own sub-set like the Rotoms, and then we have 3 SR's.

the following was pulled from POKEBEACH:

"Based on the card numbers below, it appears that the nine elemental Arceus cards will be in their own sub-set like the Unown in EX Unseen Forces. "

so that and the fact that there are 3 shiny's (Ponyta, Shinx, Bagon) it evens out 9 different regular Arcues plus the 3 shiny's plus 99 set cards equals 111 cards in total which is how many the Japanese set contains counting the decks.
