pokevirus
some people have asked me about the pokerus- yes it is rare- it does exist- and so far the only legit way to get a wild pokemon that has it in the wild is this: you must have pokemon emerald game. after defeating the elite four, and only after doing so, you will get a phone call from a trainer that claims that you must go to route117 and that there is something of interest going on in that area. THIS DOES WORK- I still have the volbeat I caught from taking the time to go and find out exactly what the trainer was telling me. At first I had no clue what to look for, so I talked and rebattled all the trainers in that area. no results of anything new. nothing for the longest time. so I figured nothing. Three days later, another call from the same trainer- same story. I went to route 117. I was thinking maybe a higher chance of shinies. nope. so I just started catching wild pokemon . I captured 50 pokemon, all strait to the pc. I went to inspect them, and 6 volbeat had the virus. I traded 5 to my friends, and kept one for myself. Three months later, i was playing emerald, and I got the call again. I captured 3 more volbeat that had the virus. it does take time, and the call comes only so often- lot of luck involved, but if you still play emerald- watch for the call. happy hunting!

Okay, for the record, I've played and beaten emerald(twice), and not once have I ever received a call relating to what you just said. And furthermore, pokemon Emerald is not the only game in which you can obtain, as you put it, "legitimate" pokerus. Pokerus has been obtainable since the original G/S/C, though I didn't get it then. However, the first time I got it was on my sapphire version, courtesy of my Metang. The Poke center nurse told me that my party had pokerus and sure enough it did. It is also available in diamond and pearl and, thanks to global trading, is exponentially more common. And, just a few days ago, I had thew good fortune of finding it in platinum, courtesy of my Tropius, which I caught,"Legitimately" at the great marsh. And it's completely up to chance whether or not you get it(unless you traded and got it intentionally)
I'm a restin' mah case!

kk, i stand corrected for those who have read the posting. yes, i am aware that the virus is programmed in the games, and it does randomly show up- i am talking about "the bad egg" issue, and that people say that that is the only for sure way to get the virus- or using a cheat device. and as far as the route 117- i am not the only person who has experienced the emerald call from a trainer. I will try and find the web site (wish now i bookmarked it)( search history gone due to cpu cccleaner) that explained the rarity of recieving that call. As far as a "legitimate" way to get the virus- that call is just an increased chance of getting the virus in the wild- no hacks needed.

Sorry, but I have been all thru the games and I have never encountered a call like that.
It is not even in the programming. If something like this existed it would have been posted before on another site like Serebii or (Insert Banned Sites Here). Only way to get Pokerus is to battle a Pokemon that has it or to catch one that has it. I googled what you talked about and came up with few things, but no call. If you did get Pokerus from it then it was by chance. Just like my first encounter was it on a Feebas in Ruby. As for the bad egg issue, it is people who cheat and are bad at it. Bad eggs are the result of a cheated Pokemon or effect of a cheat used n the game. They show up in R/S/E and is used in PBR too.

I never got that call ether and I played through Emerald like 17 times. How I got mine was throught a trade with a friend. The first time I got it was when I cought my shiny Rattata in Silver. As for the Bad Egg, I'm not sure how that works.
