I run Raichu HGSS and Raichu Lv X and use neither of those two. Best thing I've come to find is that if you want Raichu Lv X to be effective, you need to have a way to pick your Raichu's back up after using his double-attack. Best way to work this is to just have 4 Raichu's being built up on your bench, use either Super Scoop up or the new HGSS Clefable (good tank too) and have Electivire FB Lv X on your bench to power up your Raichus. Make sure to also have fisherman to pull up to 4 energy from your discard for Raichu Lv X's attack. No reason to worry about powering the Raichu back up afterwards.

As well, if you use the Electivire FB lv X as your tank, you can build up your benched Raichu's and then before he gets knocked out, use his attack to deal atleast 100+ damage to the defending Pokemon.

I think Ampharos would be slightly faster than Magnezone since you can search the deck for energy. Onlu problem is retreating Amphy so you can own face with Raichu

Raichu MT is better than Ampharos being a Raichu.

This guy is exactly right. This is a great way to play the new Raichu. I have switches to level up the Electivire FB (X) and get it back to the bench. Also have an Unown G/Bench Shield on him, as it can only use the power if not effected by special condition. Will be a bench target, so protect it.

Raichu is much quicker now w/HGSS. Wish it's HP was a bit higher, and be carful w/expert belt!

Im still workin on mine, but he runs well with Pikachu Electro Recycle. but i threw in Lugia Legend for a surprize... lol works well for me, never run out of energy, always comes back but takes 2 turns to set up. im waiting to run something like
4 Jirachi (Final Wish) - Free Retreat
1 Pichu
4 Pikachu
3 Raichu HGSS
1 Raichu LvX

as the main line, Jirachi has free retreat and free attack. which sunny shore gym Statuim to help with Donphan Prime.

I run my Raichu with Magnezone SF and I have never had a problem bringing the pain by T2. I'm currently have the Lv.X also and I'm finding out it's not really needed imo. I also run blissey to keep the damage down but I'm thinking about putting Nidoqueen in there just to heal everything. The Magnezone brings consistency in attacks. Pair it with an Expert belt and it can be quite nasty.
