Priceline. Orbitz. Hotels (I think). Any of the named online carriers would probably net you a reasonably inexpensive flight, as long as you're somewhat flexible with departure and arrival times (i.e. don't expect to get there at 8am on Friday, or leave at 6pm on Sunday). If you're willing to get there at any time probably on Thursday, and willing to leave on Monday, you're probably going to get a reasonably priced flight. Or you can always carpool with some others in your area and share the cost of gas and room. Just a suggestion.

Yeah it would have been cheaper if you weren't trying to book 2-3 weeks before the event. Rent a car and drive. That's what my family did in 2005. It was like 12 hours, but it wasn't too bad.

Check Southwest.com.
Install Southwest's Ding on your PC and check for prices. Go to airfarewatchdog.com and register for updates/specials on the city you would fly from. Check the Indianapolis airports website, see what airlines fly in and out of there, and check their websites. Expedia/Orbitz/etc. do a good job with most airlines but some airlines (like Southwest and JetBlue) aren't part of those aggregators. |
