Metagross Deck, needs help for Cities
Pokemon (18):
1-0-3 Metagross LA 3-2-0 Metang SV 0-0-1 Metagross UL 1-1-1-1 Magnezone X [SV-SF42-SF5] 1 Uxie LA 1 Azelf La 1-1 Gliscor UD T/S/S (21): 4x Rare Candy 2x Expert Belt 1x Luxury Ball 4x Bebe's Search 4x Cyrus' Conspiracy 2x Pokemon Collector 1x Palmer's Contribution 1x Twins 1x Broken Time-Space 1x Conductive Quarry Energy (21): 4x Special Metal ![]() 4x Rainbow Energy 4x Double Colorless Energy ![]() ![]() 2x Rescue Energy ![]() 6x Metal ![]() 1x Fighting ![]() Strategy: Attempt to get a start with Beldum SV to search out my only BTS. Then, attempt to start up a Metagross LA the next turn. Magnezone to Paralyze and move Rainbow Energy, as well as searching more Metagross LA. Metagross UL is to provide free retreat so I can switch out Metagrosses. Gliscor is an Umbreon and Luxray GL counter. May take out, but still need Umbreon counter. Can't rely too much on Magnetic Reversal. I included Cyrus' Conspiracy despite not having anything TGI-related because it easily grabs energy and pinch supporters. Energy Count seems to be a problem. 21 seems way too much for a deck. Cards I am considering to put in, but what to take out? Gliscor Lv. X Seekers (have 4) Twins (have 4 more) Rescue Energy (have 4 more) Black Belt (have 4 more) Junk Arm (have 4) Umbreon UD Bench Shield Lightning Energy Metagross SF6

The problem with my cards is that with the new ones, I barely have any copies of them unless I buy the theme decks. And even then, they won't have the cards I want. And like I said, I'm not looking for event legal cards yet. If I even go to one, I probably won't play in it, anyways. LA Metagross is one I'm trying to get, but I don't have anything "good" that I can offer up for it. And then I'm also aiming for the Undaunted Metagross, which sports a beefed up version of the HL Squared Attack. And since I don't have anything good, I can't get anything good. I can post my entire "pool" of cards to choose from what I have on hand that could help this deck, if that would help. The only reason I put in one Crobat because it has a free retreat and relatively high HP. It would only be used for Poisoning or sniping Benched if my Metagross' take too much damage. Also, benching a Pokemon would make the Poison go away. I want it to snip away at the Defending's HP while I snipe Benched. Hence, the extra stadium and the Metagross SV. And since Crobat needs a single energy, wouldn't it be wise to cut down on Psychic Energy? The Jirachi doesn't seem all that bad, but it's more of a sacrifice to grab cards. Should I be worried about that one prize that my opponent could take from knocking out Jirachi?

I think the best Onix is the other one from UL. There is only 3 legal right now, one from SF, the Healing one, and the non healing ones from UL. The healing one has 1 attack that takes 4 energy, one of which has to be fighting...what a waste, especially since it only heals itself when an energy is attached to THAT Onix. Granted, he can use the Rainbow, but without rainbow (or fighting) energy, it is worthless. The OTHER one from UL only needs 3 energy and all are colorless, meaning DCE makes it 2!
As for strategy, I think you have a bit too much going on. Pick an attacker, stick with him. Pick other Pokemon that HELP that attacker in someway. By helpers, I mean like Slowking HGSS, Vileplume UD....stuff like that. I wouldn't run 2 stage 2 pokemon with out rare candy and BTS. A great "helper" card in any metal deck is Jirachi RR. The new Skarmory is pretty cool as it helps with energy attachment. The new Mawile is decent as well. At a glance, I would say drop the Crobat and Steelix line.

Doesn't know what he's talking about SF Onix is the best one by far , for 1 energy he can keep himself from damage if your putting 3 energy on your onix and attacking, your deck has some consistency issues |

Steelix is there to tank, not to attack. He's a sacrifice that lasts long. Same thing with the Onix's.
Crobat poisons and then flies away. It's not a main attacker, it's there to either have the opponent waste energy to force a retreat or let it die. The main attacker is Metagross. Any Metagross. All of them work fine by themselves. That's why it's 4-4-4. I'm working on the Rare Candy thing. I find it a lot better than BTS. In a testing, I found using BTS only good for getting Magnets and evolving them fast. Except there were already Candies in my hand and I just need to stick out an Uxie for draw. The real deck won't be running Uxies, so meh. The BEST helper card in any metal deck is Magnezone SF/X. SF-5 lets you search for ANY metal pokemon, and Lv.X lets you move around the metal energies. Bronzong easily replaces Skarmory. It grabs any 2 basic energy cards. IQ can grab specials. Of course, this is all in theory. Working on acquiring the cards I mentioned.

... While he did not exactly have any tact with his comment, he's not wrong. Steelix is a tank for attacking, not stalling. If you want to stall, run Scizor Prime; it's a stage one that can't be hit by pokemon with special energies. |

Alright, so I dropped Steelix and replaced him with Scizor. I'm also considering Skarmory, but not Mawile.
Can anyone help me pick the last two cards? ---------- Post added 08/26/2010 at 05:18 PM ---------- Also might drop Crobats. Ideas for replacements? I don't want my deck to be monotype. ---------- Post added 08/26/2010 at 05:30 PM ---------- Might add 1-1-1 Exploud SV to deal with Blazikens. That's a lot of Bench sitters, though. And like I said, too many 1-1-1 lines.

it doesnt matter if hes active, having DGX in play will turn off all pokebodies. it means getting the DGX into play will get rid of your free retreat, and it will prevent the -20 HP thing.

...The more I think about it, the worse it starts to seem.
So what do you propose I do against Vilegar? I can't hope to Magnetic Reversal it, since it's flippy. And going at 40 a turn with Double Leg Hammer, or 30 with Speed Shot could cause an auto-loss with those Rare Candies and Switches.
