Red Armor v. Dragon Rush

Discard 2 Energy attached to Garchomp Pokémon C. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 80 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Garchomp Pokémon C can't use Dragon Rush during your next turn.

Prevent all damage done to Scizor by attacks from your opponent's Pokémon that have any Special Energy cards attached to them.

Since Garchomp C X's attack specifically states to discard the energy before dealing damage, shouldn't Dragon Rush paid for via DCE bypass Red Armor (provided no other special energies were attached!)?
