I was reveiwing the cards that might be coming out in our new expansion Triumphant.
When I saw the Porygon Z, I immedietly thought, ROGUE TIME So I thought of something that was fast but consistant, because I don't want to waste my time I max rare cadies and heavy Bts along with some funky ideas. It looks something like this 4-3-3-1 Porygon (Triumphant) lvl X option for searching cards for topdeck 2-2 Froslass (Ar) Awesome power for Search 1-1-1 Exploud (Supreme Victors) Getting rid of Weakness and same energy for attacks 2 or 3 uxie (La) I might replace it with 1-1-1 of magnezone prime, but with the use of Hunter, I'm not sure which would be better 2-2 Houndoom (Undaunted) Take care of fighting pokemon before they are a problem 1 Azelf (La) Picking up prizes 25 pokemon, might have room for techs, I'm not sure, I might need a starting pokemon like Sableye or Smergle from Undaunted Not sure though 3 Pokemon Communication, No explanations need 3 Bebe search, same as communication 3 broken time space, I really want speed 4 rare candy 3 Hunter, Auto heads SSU 3 Vs seeker, reuse Hunter 2 Expert Belt, Maybe 1 luxury Ball 3 Pokemon Collector 24 T/s/s 4 DCE 4 Rainbow 3 Dark basic 11 Energy, I think I need more So this is it, the strategy is to get Porygon out asap and a dce and rainbow energy to start doing 80 with no recoil. The deck seems pretty hard but I think with the right stuff it can be epic. I really like the idea and I want to be first with it. Froslass is for searching any card into my hand, Houndoom is my fighting counter, The Exploud = no weakness which sufices for my bad health I really want some help on my trainer line and energy line, I can't get rid of Rainbow, as I need it to attack. Porygon Z 110 Hp, Stage 2, Colorless Poké-POWER Dimension Transport Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, search your discard pile for a Goods card, show it to your opponent and put in on top of your deck. This power can't be used if Porygon-Z is affected by a Special Condition. Attacks CCC Confuse Beam 80 If Porygon-Z has no Rainbow Energy attached to it, Porygon-Z does 20 damage to itself and it is now Confused. Weakness to Fighting X2, No resistance, 2 colorless retreat

i dont like the Igglybuffs, i believe they will hinder you more than they help as your opponent can easily get rid of the effect by retreating/switching/warp pointing also it only has 30 hap and there is a 50% chance it will wake up so it will probably just be a easy prize for your opponent.
as for fighting counters there are 3 main fighting pokemon out there: donphan, machamp and promocroak. glalie will only counter donphan so houndoom seems like the better option but i would increase it to 2-2. also. since houndoom also has a fighting weakness i would make sure i had more than 1 exploud. also the froslass screams power spray so i would exclude it as you will have a lot of pokemon. You may need to find a counter for Scizor prime, If you are going to use Porygon-Z make sure you do use the Lv.X, when it levels up you can discard their special energy. 20 Pokemon 3-2-3-1 Porygon-Z 2 Uxie 2-2 Houndoom 2-1-2 Exploud 30 Trainers/Stadiums/Supporters 4 Pokemon Communication 1 Bebe search, 4 broken time space 4 rare candy 3 Professor Oak's New Theory 4 energy exchanger 4 Hunter 3 Vs seeker 2 Expert Belt 1 luxury Ball 10 energy 4 Double colourless 4 Rainbow energy 2 Dark energy I Have tried to keep this deck close to what you have listed. Possible changes: find room for Switch/Warp Point, so you can use switch a badly damaged pokemon then use hunter to pick it up, and hopefully you will be able to play it again. find a good starter, i cant think of 1 right now, as you have said sableye/smeargle could be good. and that is all i can think of, hopefully you will find it helpful. Thanks a bunch, I do like your list, I will strongly keep it in consideration. What do you think about Uxie Vs magnazone prime though?

With Hunter and Vs Seeker, then having Porygon-Z return trainers so you can pick up the Uxie quite easily, so i would go with the uxie, also as you dont have any way of getting prize cards without knocking out pokemon so i think the Uxie would be best since you could lack a draw engine if a Magnemite/Magnezone is prized.
you could use Uxie Lv.X if you want a consistent draw. You may also want to consider some of the Draw Supporters, as the porygon can only put cards on top of the deck. Last edited by NathWalt; 09/22/2010 at 07:32 PM. |

If you run 10 energy, there's no point in wasting 3 spots on an energy exchanger, honestly. I'd use Jirachi RR instead. Helps you set up fast, and can nab a Rainbow when it dies. I also think you could use a few Collector, and that you need less Communication ad more Bebe's. I know you're thinking of Porygon to re-use Communication, but you have to have another Pokemon in your hand to use it.
Also, I'd run 3 Uxie/3 BTS So, here would be my changes: -3 Igglybuff -2-1/1 Froslass/Glalie. Jirachi has a similar power, and it helps you set up more. And, since you run 4 stadiums, it will almost never be able to attack. Also, it's power SCREAMS power spray. At least if Jirachi is sprayed you will have used it to set up. -1 Communication -3 Energy Exchanger -11 +1-1 Dewgong SV - Takes 2 energy to attack, one-shots Donphan while two-shotting Machamp. It's also weak to steel, which is basically only seen competitively in Dialga G. +1 Azelf LA - Running so many single lines/techs, you NEED Azelf. +3 Jirachi RR - Starter, and Communication fodder later. +2 Collector - Doesn't really need explaining. Early game, this is better than Bebe's. +1 Bebe's +2 Water Energy

I totally forgot I didn't have Azelf or Collector lol
I think Houndoom is the better Fight counter So I'll keep him. I don't like Jirachi cause it's giving up prizes to do what I can do 2 times in one turn with froslass and Hunter. Igglybuff didn't work out at all. I updated the list to what I think will work best

Might try to change 2-2 of Houndoom in to a 1-1 and add a 1-1 of Blaziken Fb lvl X

I'm inclined to agree with the Dewgong suggestion. Houndoom will not 1 shot Donphan or Machamp but will be OHKO by Donphan and be 10 off the OHKO by Machamp. I know that in my Donphan Deck, I usually have a back-up Donphan by turn 3 or 4. 80 Damage may seem like a lot, but in reality, you're just asking to be KO'd.
I definitely like Blaziken FB recently. He's a fantastic counter to Steelix and Dialga G. |
