Gengar Prime or Rescue Energy vs Flotzel GL LvX

Question came up, as it often does, when I made a stupid mistake -

With Gengar Prime and Rescue Energy, the Pokemon affected never reaches the discard pile, so Flotzel is left to cry in a corner. However, say you have a Blastoise kicking it active with 4 Water Energy, and 1 Rescue Energy. It gets blasted by a Luxray and KO'd. The Rescue Energy forces the Blastoise back to your hand (as it's not an optional effect), but discards the Energy. Can that Energy, seeing as it was attached to a Water Pokemon who was KO'd, be popped back up to the hand as well, via Flotzel? Or, as the Energy has seperated itself from Blastoise, is it no longer associated with a Water Pokemon by Flotzel?

Same question for Gengar, except replace "Luxray" with "Hit-and-Hype Pokemon switching to Gengar Prime" (As we all know Gengar Prime can't hurt a fly on its own!).

Since there is no Water Pokemon in the discard, you can't use Water Rescue to get back any of the cards that had been attached to it and are now in the discard on their own.

Same answer for Gengar. The Pokemon goes to the Lost Zone instead of going to the discard.
