Vilegar for TN states

Pokemon: 27

4-Spiritomb AR
3-Gastly SF
3-Haunter SF
3-Gengar SF
1-Gengar LV.X AR
2-Oddish UD
2-Gloom UD
2-Vileplume UD
1-Slowpoke UD
1-Slowking CL
2-Mr. Mime CL
2-Uxie LA
1-Azelf

Supporters: 15

4-Bebe's Search RR
2-Palmer's Contribution SV
3-Pokemon Collector HS
4-Professor Oak's new Theory CL
2-Seeker TM

Stadiums: 3

3-Broken Time Space PL

Trainers: N/A

Energy: 15
3- Rescue Energy TM
2- Warp Energy SF
10-Psychic Energy

Strategy:

The basic strategy is to keep trainers in my opponents had and use poltergeist to deal massive amounts of damage. the slowkings are there to aid in controlling my opponents cards to help improve the control aspect.

I have not played any SP or Gyardos decks so i am not sure how i will match up.

My friend plays a Machamp and Donphan the most and he usually plays faster than i do and uses regirocks to counter my control, but its usually a close match that i lose more often than not.

Also a play a scizor prime deck that i don't have much trouble with once i punch through the wall that is a scizor prime with special steel energy attached to it.

My problems that i could use help with are that i tend to fill up my bench and have to be very careful with wich pokemon i play, and umbreons with moonlight fang. also any tips against Lostgar, Gyardos, And SP decks. Any tips or suggestions would helpful and appreciated.

Do you have Gengar lvl x because if you dont Diagla will just ruin you.

With Gyrados try to kill their Regice first. But it is usally always a close match.

I also like to run 1 prime.Because if PolterGar dies and you flip heads and you send up LostGar that card is sent to the lostzone.

Last thing I would run 4 or 3 rescue energy.

I would take out the slowking line and put in 4 Rescue. Take out 1 Palmer's for a Gengar lvl x. If you want to run the Prime Gar take out one of the SF gengar.

I would do

^that I know of, what your saying that lostgar can do is not right. Besides I wouldn't put one in anyway because lostgar and poltergar are two completely different concepts. Now my suggestions are:

-slowpoke and slowking
- 1 palmers
-1 Interviwers

for:
+1 gengar X
+2 E belt
+3 rescue.

hope this helps ^^

LostGar says :As long as Gengar is your Active Pokémon, if any of your opponent's Pokémon would be Knocked Out, put that Pokémon in the Lost Zone instead of discarding. (Discard all cards attached to that Pokémon.)

So when you flip heads to kill them and you send up Gengar Prime this puts them in the lost zone. This is good for decks like Gyrados so that magikarp is put in the lost zone and not the deck.

Thats not how it works actually. If you flip heads for Fainting Spell, both you and the defending Pokemon are knocked out simultaneously. They both hit the discard pile before either person even brings up a new active.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions, they were helpful. I have edited my above list, but I still have some questions. I plan to add a Gengar LV X but I could use some suggestions on what to take out for it. Also I am considering switching out the two Twins for two Seekers. Any thoughts?

Expert Belt's not gong to help in a Vilegar Deck. He's not going to be able to play trainers.

but you also have the time before you put down vileplume. I have e-belts in mine and it works really well to make my gens do more before i slap down vileplume

It depends on the style you play Vilegar. With his, he uses Spiritomb start, which doesn't allow trainers, and immediately goes into a Vileplume. He strives for start to finish not allowing trainers.

Max out the gastly and haunter lines. You want to run into your main hitter as often as possible.
