Talking Dark Steelix Impact!

Hey all, heres a deck list im experimenting with, will be playing it for CC on 30th! Need all the help i can get, so plz help!!!

Dark Impact

Pokemon (19)
3 Dratini (Dragon Song) (evolution)
2 Dark Dragonair (evolution)
3 Dark Dragonite (beatdown)
3 Onix (evolution)
3 Dark Steelix (beatdown)
3 Dunsparce (draw)
2 Jirachi (evolution/assistance)

Trainers (22)
3 Steven's Advice (draw)
3 TV Reporter (draw)
3 Rocket's Pokeball (draw)
3 Mr.Briney's Compassion (enable)
3 Buffer Piece (disable)
2 Rare Candy (enable)
2 Warp Point (enable/disable)
2 Island Cave (enable)
1 Rocket's Hideout (enable)

Energy (18)
4 Darkness Energy
4 Metal Energy
3 R Energy
3 Dark-Metal Energy
4 Fighting Energy

The main idea is to get a quick and good set-up with Dunsparce, or use Dark Dragonair and Jirachi to get the evolutions out...before starting to lay the Darkness Energies, shift them to Dark Steelix and, along with Buffer Pieces, Metal energies and Rocket's Hideout (for an even tougher Dark Steelix) or Island Cave (for the removal of special conditions). Thus, a quick beatdown will suffice, the deck being able to add or reduce damage effectively.
Reviews please...

The only thing I really don't like about dark steelix is how slowly he recovers metal energy...

Otherwise looks pretty good. :)

Hi DarkmasterchrisEX,

Thanks for the review, appreciate your quick response. Not entirely sure on the added Dark Electrode line as it may slow down beatdown potentials BUT increase chances of having large ammount of resources out. Will try it out if it works for me!

Hi Tagrineth,

Thanks for the review, appreciate your quick assistance. The main focus of this deck is to circulate Darkness energies fast. Metal energies are there for that added protection/ reduction of damage from attacks to keep Dark Steelix in play for a significant ammount of time to deal maximum damage...

I tend to look at anything all- or part-Metal type to be designed for defensive play, hence my Gojira-Metagross style deck, and my future plans for abusing the Deoxys Metagross.. ^.^

Hi Tagrineth,

Yes metal pokemon are intriguing, being able to reduce damage dealt to them, devastating with Buffer Piece... The upcoming Metagross is interesting too...

Hi MoCE,

Yes, i'm well aware of the fact that the upcoming Metagross is not a metal type, (kind of sad...) but thanks for bringing it up!

Basically replaced the Warp Points with Celio's Network for an even bigger drawing force as i recently realised i need basics when i had evolutions and Rocket's Pokeball. Also, removed the Dark-Metal energies for Rainbow energies for that added flexibilty to shift the energies around, provides the energy needed by Jirachi to counter Togetics. Added another Rocket's Pokeball to increase my chances of an even faster beatdown.
Thoughts? Comments?

Run 4 Dunsparse and 1 Jirachi. (rather than 3-2)

Having Jirichi in one of your Prizes is a 1 in 10 proposition. I often run 4-1 Dunsparse Jirachi. You want to maximise the chances of you starting with a Dunsparse.

I have to agree with DarkmasterchrisEX with the Electrode line. A first turn candy to Trode to get the Dark energy is too good to be true.

Hi ppl,

Thanks for the reviews, will take them into deep consideration. However, the addition of Dark Electrode may cause the deck to lose its speed for the presence of resources fast. What do you all think of the probability of adding in Tropius for healing, to further exploit the use of Rainbow energies?

Hi Dark Legendary Master,

Thanks for the review. The main purpose of Tropius is for the ability to heal 40 every turn for one energy (covered for by Rainbow) as long as it stays alive...and being the damage absorber of the 1 damage counter by attaching Rainbow to it instead of Dark Steelix or other monsters.

my advice, drop the Island cave. Play dessert ruins or Mt. Moon. Mt. Moon stops up dark electrode. and maybe throw in a line of Dark Electrode and at least one Electrode EX for emergencies. I think the buffer Peices would hinder you more than you know and drop Jirachi. Dragonair's power does just fine on it's own. Also add some more draw cards. that way, it'll be SOOOOO fast!

I'm not sure why you think Dark Electrode would slow down the deck. Just because it's another line? If anything it speeds up the deck, by essentially allowing you to attach 2 energy a turn.

Hi Smurf Cat and sneasalsrevenge,

My apologies, Dark Electrode does indeed speed up most if not, all Dark decks being able to firstly, look for a Dark or Dark-metal energy and secondly, attach 2 energies a turn. Will consider and try it out if it works, the addition of Dark Electrode also means the space for 3-4 Dark-Metal energies to power up pokemon. Island Cave is in there for cancelling Special Conditions which may affect Dark Steelix or Onix early-game.
Thanks for your reviews, will try them out and see what works!

drop the Jirachi. Evo. light does fine on it's own. put in Rocket's Sneasel EX, and drop the fighting E. put in 4 rainbow and sneak another Darkmetal into the deck. that should work well.
